CONS: the hotel is nice from the outside but so poor inside, the tilled walls of the bathroom such as the plastic curtain in the shower make you feel sad! Furniture are old and the mirror inside the cupboard was not very stable. The elevator is not very nice. The breakfast is poor and the food quality not very high for... More

The Hotel de la Rose is set right smack in the city centre, across the street from the charming old City Hall, and a few steps from the cathedral. Plenty of restaurants around - I recommend you try local specials at the Café du Gothard across the street, specially the famous "Fondue fribourgeoise"! :) The Hotel itself is quietly good.... More

Nice friendly front desk staff. However, our room was very small, as was the bathroom. Hard for two people to get dressed and not trip over one another. I'm sure there are larger rooms. I would recommend researching the room before booking. It was very centrally located, close to the train station and right in the heart of the downtown.... More

The most centraly located hotel in the historic city of Fribourg. Very polite staff, satisfactory rooms , free internet. The only disadvantage for us was that some of the rooms on the 4th floor they dont have normal , but rather inclined roof windows. Is not a disaster but is good if can see directly outside. Our stay it was... More

Historic building, renovated with overall good taste, mixing modern and old details. Very kind staff, both at reception and at Breakfast. We were on 4th floor and windows are pretty small, despite the view was nice from our room -other rooms on the same floor have no view or roof windows. Very nice breakfast, nice bathroom. In a 4 stars... More

Again I forgot to take pictures! Stayed here 2 nights, with a friend. The room was bright and cheery and the beds were comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel is in walking distance to a lot of things but gee whiz the walk from the train is a doozy if you have heavy luggage. I had assumed... More

Very friendly staff. The hotel was comfortable and clean. Large bathroom. It is very central so we could walk to all the sights easily. We had a room overlooking the main square which was interesting, but was loud at night, especially the nightclub which seemed to stay open until at least 3am. If noise bothers you, suggest ask for a... More

This hotel is in an excellent location, in the old town, and only about 10 minutes walk from the station (but best to get a bus to the station as it's up a long hill - only takes about 5 minutes). It was spotlessly clean and the room was nicely decorated in a clean, modern way. The bed was incredibly... More

Lovely, comfortable room, although it overlooked some kind of inner courtyard, so it felt pretty dark most of the time. Breakfast OK, although needed re-stocking more efficiently. The lady on reception was fantastically helpful; we started to worry that she never slept, as she seemed to be on duty afternoon, late night and early next morning. Resaturant was closed for... More

We stayed for two nights in this lovely hotel. I would recommend it if you like to be in the centre of town. Our room was lovely, on the third floor with a view out onto the square. We had a corner room so from the bathroom you could see the stunning cathedral. The room was double glazed so there... More
