After having a splendid evening at the Copper Kettle, I couldn't believe the poor reviews I saw afterwards. Being of a certain age (61), I loved the layout, the 60s/70s background music and the varied and reasonably priced menu. Yes, all a bit of a step back in time but a fabulous atmosphere in which to reminisce. The food was... More

I've never stayed at the Copper Kettle but have eaten there on numerous occasions over the past few years after a days fishing on the local river. I have always been very happy with the choice and quality of the food, served with friendly service. Prices have always been very reasonable. More

I think the really negative reviews must have been written by competitors, as we stayed in the top room, nice clean bed, no problems at all, ate in the restaurant, and had fish and steak, both were well cooked and tasted good. Sure this place is a bit retro, and doesn't look like a boring holiday inn, but a bit... More

Did not stay at the B+B but on passing one evening we went in for a meal. Its certainly quaint and unusual and we did not know what to expect however the meal was wholesome and tasty and we enjoyed it. The host was chatty and pleasant. Places like this won't always be around so we are glad we went... More

Whilst we did not stay at the Copper Kettle, we did sample the food during our stay in Kirkby Lonsdale. First Rate. Charming hosts who went out of their way to make us welcome. We had home made soup and bread. I had a steak and my wife had cornish pasty, both of which were lovely. All the food is... More

Awful,Disgusting the worst place on earth. We would rather have eaten in the twin towers on september the 11th. Total hell hole with rude staff and low rate food the worst weve ever had. As i walked through the door I was already worrying, i would have left straight away if it wasnt for the rest of my family who... More

I'm not sure where all those miserable people who wrote the bad reviews went, but it definitely wasn't the same place as us! I went there terrified that it was going to be awful - I had already paid the deposit before reading the reviews and so couldn't book somewhere else. However, the linen and towels were clean, the food... More

Having recently stayed at the Copper Kettle I came on here to write a review about how pleasant a place I'd found and was shocked to see the bad reviews. So let me give a different viewpoint. Yes, it is old fashioned; yes, it is slightly shabby and has wonky floors and doors; yes, it doesn't have all the modern... More
