We've stayed 3 times in the last year as we've made regulat trips to Lyme Regis. The Royal Lion is well located with a free car park that can just about accomodate everyone's car. Breakfast is good and general room standard is fine - it's just things like a shower that trickles and mixed levels of service that let the... More

My family and I (39 / 30 / 18months) stayed recently for 2 nights b&b. Upon arrival we were told we'd been upgraded to a patio room as it would be better for little one (we had booked a standard double) - the room was beautiful. Cleaned to very high standards Tv with free view Tea / coffee / hot... More

Bar staff are friendly and bar meals are top notch. great atmosphere to the place, The rooms are very clean, tidy and well presented... So why would I not stay here again I hear you ask? Firstly. Being able to hear every step across the creaky floor above every time the couple upstairs go to the loo during the night... More

My wife and i stayed for 3 nights over the fossil festival weekend. My wife suffers from a very serious food allergy which the staff took this in their stride after being made aware on arrival in a very professional manner. The staff were extremely professional at all times, they really were faultless ! our room (34) had a small balcony... We stayed over Christmas and were very impressed with the food - not standard pub food but lovely interesting seafood and fish. Sea bass for Christmas lunch was a real treat. The staff were very friendly and even had mulled wine and mince pies for us when we got back from the Midnight service at 1.15 am. We stayed in... More

Lovely old building, ideally positioned just 2 minutes walk from the beach. Rooms are a fair size, clean with all the mod cons, and wonderful sloped floors, owing to the building's 400 odd years in existence. Sad to read the previous poster's negative comments about breakfast because we found it to be great; There's a cold buffet with juices, fruit... More

We stayed just for the one night. The room was on the first floor at the front and was very good. The food at the hotel was another story. Breakfast was both expensive and appalling. Toast delivered twenty minutes before the main course. The 'full english' was very small ( one bacon, one sausage, one egg, one black pudding and... More
