We went in for the BBQ they had yesterday (9th) and it was lovely. Sat in the beer garden which is a little sun trap, yet could do with a sweep to get rid of the cig butts on floor as people obviously cannot use the many ash trays provided!! The regulars were very friendly. The chef doing the BBQ... More

We arrived on Sun night (5 May, Bank holiday weekend) and was greeted by a loud disco. A waiter found someone to check us in, we were shown to our room which the owner said "luckily it's on the top floor, because the disco will be going on until 12.30 am". Room was clean, 3 single beds with nice clean... More

We are effectively a pub with rooms and we do try to put on entertainment in the main bar area for both the local community and for the residents (Quiz nights, Oen Mic nights, Bands, DJs, etc). With it being a bank holiday a few of the locals may have been enjoying their extended holiday which may have caused it... More

Earplugs were not enough. Scary place. Drunks milling around outside mooning people & shouting until 1:30am. Avoid room 1 as you won't get much sleep as it's right above the bar. Food is good for the price. After 6 nights of little sleep I left & went elsewhere to get a decent night's sleep as I was completely exhausted.

Dropped in here during the recent floods as it was close to my Grandmothers new pad. Its warm, friendly and basic. Footy on the TV, good beer range, plenty of locals. Just what a boozer should be really. Grub was fast, cheap and plentyful. Landlord gave a damn. Dont go here for fine cuisine - just go here for a... More

Booked this for two nights having read the reviews. Entry to their own car park is narrow but fine and others staying parked outside anyway. Although the hotel/pub is a little tired-looking, the en-suite room we had was fine, and the hospitality shown by all associated with the place was great, as was the food; we booked the optional dinner... Spent our Honeymoon here 30 years ago {in the Eighties when Money was tight) returned for our Pearl Anniversary. Come on play the Game with the negative reviews(,the hotel was fully booked when we were there)- this is a 16th Century coaching House full of Character,Floors that slope, door frames that are a bit wonky - if your not happy... This is the worst accommodation I have ever stayed at. I have done alot of travelling and stayed in loads of budget accommodation even had rats in the my bedroom but never wanted or felt that I needed to complain or put a bad review on tripadvisor before. I believe the requirement of staying anywhere is being able to sleep.... More

We had a pleasant and friendly stay in a room made up for the three. The hotel staff were very friendly and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome especially the manager. The only problem that ruined our stay was the welcome at breakfast, after arriving in the breakfast area 5 minutes late we were told that we... More

We stayed here last weekend. There were five of us. Grandparents, parents and one grandson. We fitted into two bedrooms tucked at the top of this ancient coaching inn. Our Argentine daughter in law was delighted to be staying in an English pub! Yes it's a busy pub downstairs and of course on Friday and Saturday nights it is noisy... More
