Just had a lovely 3 night stay at the Schooner Hotel in Alnmouth. The staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Some other guests staying were having a ghost hunt which looked fun. I might do that next time I stay. I spoke to the owner and the manager who are currently upgrading the hotel but... More

If you`re looking for a 5 star hotel with all the amenities, you won`t like this place. But if you`re the adventurous sort and willing to keep an open mind, by all means try this place. As a centuries old place, the layout is a bit weird. Despite being a relatively small hotel, with the many corridors and stairwayst it's... More

Our party stayed in rooms 126 &127 on long weekend April 2012. We rated our rooms a zero, there was extensive mold on the shower curtain & room windows. Bed springs were collapsed & mattress was badly stained. Dining room ran out of brown bread & other items at breakfast. Dining room to small to accomadate amount of morning guests.... More

My partner and I booked for one night during the Easter weekend. We chose this particular hotel as it was dog friendly and we brought our dog with us. The outside of the property looks quite nice and the bar area is nice too. Unfortunately the rooms are tired and a bit grubby looking. Although our room had decently been... More

My family and I booked in for one night for the Ghost Hunt with Ray Bokor. It was a birthday present of a difference but loved every minute of it. Highly recommended for the ghost lovers. Ray was an excellent host. Very entertaining. The hotel was really lovely too. Rooms lovely and clean. The family room was very spacious. Also... More

We stayed in March and the hotel was in the process of having some refurbishment carried out, and perhaps this was not the best time to visit. We were let into the hotel by a resident and struggled to find anyone to check us in at 14.00 and in the end we went off to Craster to walk and returned... More

Booked for one night only,to get away from things,to be honest one night was more than enough.......despite a very welcoming and helpful staff we found the rooms basic at best with creaky beds, floorboards and very dated decor! Breakfast was also a let down in a very cold and uninviting back room with cold coffee and luke warm food! More

We arrived at the Schooner on the 30th of December. We were greeted and checked in very quickly. We were shown to our room, which was at the very top of the hotel. I asked about parking and was told that at that time only on street parking was available. I explained that my car was on double yellow lines... More
