The hotel is in a good location close to the harbour in Gairloch. Pleasant gardens. Everything is fine, food, rooms, bathrooms. Maybe average in standard for the area. It's easy to find better, but not for the price. You will get 20% or 30% better easily, but you can pay 60 to 100% more for it. The Old Inn maybe... More

We stayed here for one night in October. There was quite a large group of motorcyclists staying at the same time. We were woken in the early hours by some of them returning to their rooms, shouting and swearing and generally carrying on. Having gone away to escape offspring who behave like this in their teens, we had hoped not... More

If you don't have your own car, don't stay here. It is on top of a big hill and has no restaurant. The Old Inn, a sister location is at the bottom of the hill and has a good restaurant. The staff seemed uninterested and were only available by phone much of the time. The rooms were average and small.... More

I stayed here with 5 friends and we had a great time walking in the hills and drinking and eating in the Old Inn down the road. The hotel is not luxurious but is clean and comfortable, serves a nice buffet breakfast and I thought it was great value for money. If you like walking in the hills the location... More

arrived back from the Gairloch hotel on 17/09/2011 After an exhausting 14 hour coach drive our hotel was a welcome site . As others have mentioned the rooms are basis somewhat tatty in appearance and do require upgrading . Food @ hospitality good allways a choice mostly good quality but a lot of processed meats used . Staff are superb... More

We booked a cheap break to visit an area of Scotland that we had not been to before. The hotel was used by coach trips but we drove as there is so much to see and didn't want to be limited to specific tours. THe hotel staff was extremely welcoming, helpful and happy! In particular the reception manager was very... More

Perhaps it was due to the popularity of the area but the hotel gives the feeling that the owners stopped investing in it 15 years ago. In itself all is maintained well and the staff is nice but just isn't a very bright place. The restaurant is only open for breakfast. More

Arrived for a one night stay, were shown to our room by a pleasant lady who also showed us the lounge and bar. She explained that there was no barman as it was an honesty bar (nice touch) Evening meals are not served here so we went to the Old Inn pub armed with a 10% discount voucher. We were... More

The rooms are a little old fashioned but comfortable and clean. The breakfast is a buffet breakfast and so some of the 'hot' food had been hanging around for a while. I'm not sure why this hotel is called a 'hotel' when it doesn't actually do evening meals. We ate at The Old Inn in the evening. If you're hungry,... More
