We stayed for a week with our two children and 2 dogs at the self catering first officers quarters. We could not fault any part of our stay!! We had the most amazing time at the rua reidh light house. It was incredibly nice and we would have loved to stay longer. A childhood dream to imagine life at as a lighthouse keeper. Rooms are excellent and the kitchen well equipped. Great escape! More

This was such a great place to stay...didn't know quite what to expect but thought may get thrashing waves and great sea views. As it was we did get a view from the window but the accomodation is set slightly behind the lighthouse so you can't see a big panorama. It makes sense really as the place wasn't actually built... Twin room was just big enough with all our luggadge. The singleroad was lang and interesting :-( but was absolutly worth it. We had a great Scottish breakfast and had dinner in the Melvaig Inn (also superb) Wifi was good and fast.... it was just what we needed to have two wonderfull and relaxing days. More

Twin room was small and really crowded after we put up the extra bed wich was very uncomfortable. But we were happy we got the last room and could stay there. Very popular place and you should book well ahead. No mobile phone recepion which is great! You are on holiday. But WiFi if you need it. Great location! More

I must say that though the road leading to the light house was quite dangerous at places, the whole trip was worth it. The view from the light house is just breath taking!!!
