Had one nights dinner, bed and breakfast here. I am surprised by the number of high rated reviews. Did we get the worst room in the hotel? It was tiny and the furniture looked as if it had been picked up in a car boot sale: chipped and cheap. The room looked as if it had been the maid's room... More

Had a mini-break here for some peace and quiet in gorgeous surroundings. We had a really nice room on the top floor overlooking the water. The only real complaint was that the hotel was too warm - which is far preferable to being cold. The staff were equally warm and friendly. We had dinner here on our first night as... More

Traditional, character and scenic....are just a few words to describe this hotel and the location. Our room was great, facing over the water, breakfast was tasty and filling and we relaxed in the library in front of a roaring log fire. Overall, really enjoyed this trip and staying here. More

I would like to warn fellow travels that when you book this hotel make sure that your booking is honoured. I booked for a large party, 11 rooms, 5 nights but was told two weeks before our arrival that there had been a burst pipe and they could not accommodate us because they had to refurbish 7 rooms. We were... More

We stopped at this hotel for four nights from the 23rd April 2012 and had a fantastic time. The views from the dining room over the loch were amazing and some of the bedrooms share this view. We found the staff very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We are vegetarians and the chef went to great lengths to... More

My brother and his wife got married in the Ballachulish hotel on 14 April. The atmosphere was lovely, it was more like being in someone's home rather than a standard wedding venue. Frank and his team were fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they make people feel welcome. This is a small hotel that does not specialise... More

This is a fairly old fashioned hotel but with modern facilities. The bedrooms are large enough and have digital T.V.'s. The dining room has the most wonderful view down Loch Linnie. The food here is nice, homely and wholesome but not for the epicurean diner. The main lounge has a soporific feel about it, a great place to relax. The... More

Stayed at the Ballachulish Hotel for two nights for my birthday with my partner and our dogs. Situated right opposite Loch Leven. Super hotel, not so big as to be treated like a number and very dog-friendly. Plenty of walking on the doorstep for the dogs. Free parking on-site. Our room was warm and comfortable, and the food was very... More
