We stayed at the Pennyghael Hotel with our son and two dogs last August on our way back from Iona. Kierron and Jo were perfect hosts. The room was spotlessly clean and the food was fantastic - even preparing something different for our 9 year old. One of our dogs took not well and they kindly phoned ahead to the... More

Pennyghael Hotel If you want to get away from it all, to look out at beautiful scenery or to watch wildlife, then savour the beauty of this delightful spot. A friendly atmosphere with, at the time of writing, some of the best food around, this hotel would be what you are looking for. Whether you want the highspots of Tobermory... More

This was our second stay at Pine Cottage, Pennyghael. The cottage is well-equipped and provided all we needed for self-catering. The bedroom is very comfortable, with the most amazing views from the window over Loch Scridain and Ben More in the distance. We went into the bar at the Hotel next door for a drink several times during the 10... More

Warmly welcomed on arrival. Assigned a comfy, homely room. A bit of creaking from the rooms above, but nothing we could not sleep through. Cosy, friendly restaurant, with outstanding food. Most interesting dishes, beautifully prepared and cooked. In a delightful location overlooking a loch, with otters REALLY around and there to be seen with a bit of luck, and we... More

Stayed in Oak Cottage, which had everything we needed. The lochside location is breathtaking with deer popping down to visit! Ate in the hotel on our last night and had a truly first-class meal made with fresh (very) local ingredients. Thie is an excellent base for seeing Mull and the neighbouring islands - the week flew by. More

My husband, myself and 2 young children stayed in the Clansman Cottage, attached with another one next to the hotel.Cottage was immaculate. Clean, tidy and has everything you could ask for. The place is amazing, there are no other words to describe it. We faced Loch Scridain and the huge windows from each room were fantastic to stand and watch... More

... we were passing by at about 6.30 and popped in for an evening meal on the off chance ... and were glad we did. We can't comment on the hotel as we didn't stay but the food was excellent - apparently the first night of the summer menu. My wife particularly liked her starter - vanilla poached pear &... More

My wife and I have been visiting Mull for a few years now. It's an island that we love, but the downside has always been the difficulty in finding places to eat that offer something more than 'pub food'. This year we found the Pennyghael Hotel! At first it might strike you as an unlikely place to find excellent dining.... More

It was the first time we had been welcomed to a hotel by the Proprietor coming out to meet us in the car park! And this set the tone for our entire stay. I whole heartedly repeat what a previous reviewer said about feeling that you were staying at a private house, the welcome and atmosphere was so warm and... More

We stayed her for 2 nights on our way to the HIghlands. Easy to find as there arent many Roads on Mull and certainly worth the trip across the island to the inlet the Hotel is on as it abounds in Birdlife to watch from the Restaurant windows. We had very nice clean comfortable room upstairs. All the amenitys you... More
