Clean, neat rooms with tea and coffee My colleague and I stayed in separate rooms, she had the best shower of her life whilst mine was closer to the worst; scalding on one setting and cold on the other. As a shower was what I was looking forward to all day I found this a little disappointing. My room was... More

We stayed her for one night whilst visiting family. From the initial call to arrange the room to our arrival and during the stay, staff were extremly helpful. We had a lovely room with a bay window overlooking the harbour. When we arrived the hotel was quiet and we settled in to our room. The room was basic but clean... More

We recently stayed here for one night en route to Scotland. We stayed here a few years ago and it was bad then, but had seen "under new management" go up at sometime, so we thought there would be an improvement. Not so. We were given the same room as before and the decor hadn't changed, except maybe the curtains.... More

I understand why people rate so high because the service is good so we tend to close one or both eyes. But to be realistic, it is a very basic hotel. The rooms are tiny, the sink is in the room as there is not enough space in the bathroom. The soundproofing is poor and where the truck go from... More

Stayed for a Saturday night. A warm welcome from the staff. Rooms are adequate if a little small but hey you don't rent a room just to sit in it. Wifi was available within the public areas, which were clean and tidy. Breakfast was good, plenty of fresh coffee. All in all a fair price and warm friendly staff.

It takes about 10 minutes of a brisk walk up the hill to get to the town centre which is not its disadvantage as such not only because there is not much to do in the centre but also because the hotel is located across the road from the marina which is very suitable as a starting point for walking... We stayed here as an overnight on a walking trip, and had a triple room for £75 all-in. For what we paid we thought it was great. We were very warmly greeted by the lady on reception, who also gave us a rundown of local places to eat and drink, and we were shown to our room. The room itself... More
