I liked this place. It's very basic but it was more than I needed. It was clean. Beautiful landscaping and had a nice pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. For me the location was perfect. I would stay there again if I'm ever so lucky to visit Easter Island again. More

Nice hotel in a pefect position close to the village centre and small harbour also short walk to the nearest maoi.Saw no ants as previous reviews. The room I had was great with a fantastic outdoor seating area(117) all rooms nearby seemed of the same quality although due to layout seemed of various sizes. The gardens and pool were well maintained and... I was totally unprepared for the invasion of creepy little ants that seem to be EVERYWHERE on the island. The O'tai hotel wasn't spared of the creepy crawlers. I saw them at the dining room, at my room. The room itself is quite comfortable, we used the A/C a few times in the afternoon but otherwise happy with the nice... More

The location and the gardens are real pluses. I understand the quality of the rooms varies. Ours had a bathroom that I rate as disgusting. The linoleum tile was peeling from the walls and there were tiny ants crawling in and out of the peeling walls. Also, we had a worm in our toilet. At breakfast, the staff was slow... More

I was impressed by the hotel grounds with the beautiful flowers and all kinds of fruit trees, very pleasant to walk around. Also appreciate how close it is to the town center (after seeing how isolated other hotels are after been driven around on the tour bus to collect people from various hotels.) The room, as well as the space... More

Easter Island, the most remote inhabited island in the world, has to import most of its goods from Chile and so its important to remember that you are not in a typical world here. THe Otai was excellently situated a short walk from the surf and local moai as well as opposite the postoffice. Walking from the hotel to local shops,markets... More

We stayed there with 3 teenage kids - no connecting rooms but there are rooms opening to the same semi private terrace - I can recommend this to families. The gardens are best on the island and the location is really central - everthing is within 5 min walk. Also reasonable fast wifi available for only $5 per day. The... More

Just good, but nothing outstanding. The location is excellent as everything is in walking distance. The rooms are clean the pool area is lovely and the gardens are colourful and well kept, the gardener is hilarious as well! However the rooms are a bit plain but plenty big enough, and the air conditioning in our room did not work. The... More

Small bungalow style hotel in a lush tropical setting. We staid there for 4 nights. Room (3 beds but little else) was simple but clean. Breakfast not great but sufficient. Bathroom was equipped with a functioning hair dryer. Staff friendly and very helpful. Safe deposit box in room. No TV but the neighborhood roosters add a distinctly rural feeling so... More

We were booked for a four night stay and looking at the website it was in a marvellous location set in splendid grounds! We left after the first night and moved to another hotel! This hotel was positively dirty. The lavatory didn't work and despite three requests it wasn't fixed. I knew that this was what the trade calls a... More
