Beautiful, quiet hotel on river bank. Very spacious rooms in bungalows located in beautiful gardens with shady trees (ask for a deluxe river view). Good breakfast and a wonderful bonus was the puppet and music show at night. More

We stayed two nights at the Thande and enjoyed it. Beeing a family of five we had two riverfront rooms. The property is great and well kept with an ideal Old Bagan location. We had a deluxe room overlooking the Irrawady which was great. The hotel had a very small reception area and no indoor seating area to have a pre-dinner drink. We had a lovely bungalow located right along the river. It was simply beautiful. The rooms themselves are very simple, but with enormous bathrooms! We enjoyed the garden, having sun-downers by the river, and the amazing service. The restaurant was very limited, but it was a long schlepp into "town" for dinner. The spring rolls were to die for. We stayed 3 nights at the Thande Bagan. We had two rooms facing the river and the atmosphere was great. The swimming pool is nice. I would probably rate it Good in another country but considering it was Burma I gave it Excellent. The only critisism is the reception which looks old and dirty with relatively unpleasant staff. More
