Third place to stay in our journey through Myanmar, and we came in by car from Mandalay, hoping to see on our way some of the local life, in fact the trip was quite boring, so our advice : take the plane to Bagan. The Mount Popa temple is ok to visit, but will not give you much different insights... More

Although we did not stay overnight at this hotel and were just a 'day visitor' like many people, it seemed so brilliant that I wanted to write a review. For me. this is one of the very best mountain view hotels that I have ever seen, and one where you are up a mountain looking down on the valley/lowlands, rather... More

Mt Popa shouldn't be considered an add-on to a Bagan trip but a destination of it's own. The volcanic edifice of Mt Popa provides a unique ecosystem and climate to escape the dusty heat of the Bagan valley below. Not only is the flora, fauna and geography unique, it has a rich cultural experience to offer as well. Admittedly, my... More

We visited this hotel on the 15th of February, the food and the service very good, with great views of Mount Popa. Would have liked to stay a few nights at this hotel and done some trekking. More

We checked out Mt Popa then went for lunch at the Popa Mountain Resort which was just perfect! The resort itself is lovely with stunning grounds & landscaping. The restauant is set on a series of large wooden decks that overlook the countryside and of course, Mt Popa. The view, the service & the food were excellent! Also, they gave... More

This was the quintessential travel experience! On the one hand, the setting and views here are unbeatable. You won't find a more peaceful refuge and it truly was a memorable part of our trip. The hotel has charming and easy walkways to the viewpoints, which the restaurant also enjoys. The rooms we stayed in were basic and rustic - certainly... More

Great attention to detail. The chalet style rooms are luxurious (although the soundproofing is not good) The views and the sunsets are what memories are made of - room 701 was particularly good for views. More

The hotel is nice with superb views over Taung Kala, which is much nicer from the distance. Bagan temples are more interesting. The pool is incredible and the rooms are quite large. Nevertheless, the pathway from the hotel to the temple is very difficult to follow. More

We stayed here in November for one night before Bagan. It is approx 1 hour from bagan airport an the temples, so don't choose this as your base if you want to explore the archeological sights. It is a brilliant place to relax for a day and soak in the lush nature around you. Mt popa monastery is not easy... More
