Each of the 6 yurts in this provincial park is situated on a private and scenic site, the lower ones on the edge of Bird Lake, the higher ones looking out over the lake. The provincial park yurts all have the same standard facilities, including sleeping for up to 5, electric lighting and heating and an electric outlet on the deck for a kettle or the like. These are the most recently built yurts in the Manitoba parks system and have large decks, picnic tables, animal-proof food storage bins and fire pits. There are well maintained pit toilets, but you need to bring your own drinking water or buy it from a store a ways down the road. Great location for canoeing or kayaking, wildlife viewing, fishing. Some hiking in the area, including a short path to view the falls where Tulabi Lake empties into Bird Lake and another path to a viewpoint overlooking Tulabi Lake. There is a swimming beach at the nearby campground. Can be busy during peak summer camping season. The yurts have to be booked for at least two nights but are very hard to book the the parks reservation system.…

A wonderful campground. Only 35 sites, so fairly quiet. We enjoyed being able to swim in both lakes. Loved the falls as well, and the hike up to the look out. Sites had pretty good privacy. Outhouses were clean. Nice sunsets from the beach too.

I tented at Tulabi Falls Campground for the first time during the weekend of August 28-30, 2020. It has now become one of my favourite campgrounds! The campground is reached via 40 minutes of gravel road from Bird River and is just over 2 hours from the Winnipeg area. There were two bays and I liked that the campground was fairly small. The sites were spacious and private with trees in between separating each site. The campground office was very nice and was open between 10-11 am and 4 to 8:30 pm. They had maps and staff to assist with any questions. There were nice and clean outhouse buildings in the campground that were stocked with hand sanitizer and toilet paper. No lights in the outhouses so bring a flashlight after dark. There are no showers or drinking water taps in the campground either so make sure to bring enough water. As for things to do in the area, Tulabi Falls is the obvious sight to see. It’s a short walk through the forest to the falls or you can drive to the parking area. The falls are gorgeous and there is a lookout deck with great views. There is an unmarked trail leading from the falls parking lot on a short uphill trail to this amazing viewpoint on top of the large rocks overlooking Tulabi Lake and Bird Lake! The views were incredible. This campground will be added to my regular summer rotation and I can’t wait to come back! If you need supplies, gas or firewood, the Nopiming Lodge is about 7 minutes drive away and has the basics. A large bundle of firewood is $10. …

We had a wonderful time! Easy access to the falls. It’s lovely to have two lakes to explore on either side of the campground. There are nice little yurts, but be quick, they book up early. And one is designated as an accessible yurt. Clean, clear water. A quiet campground. Camping spots were secluded from each other with plenty of trees. Bring your own water, especially for drinking because potable water is not available at the campsite. The bathrooms were basic, pit privies, but clean. No showers but you can take a little dip at the beach along the campground. This is an out-of-the-way gem for those who like the water and trails and aren’t put off by basic bathroom facilities. We will visit again!

The water is very peace full and great for canoeing or kayaking. There is no running water nor facilities of anykind, so be prepared to pump your own water, the view is worth it. The falls are a short walk down the trail.

This was a great way to “rough it” and really experience nature. We hiked our things 2.4 km up site 4 (the website said 1.6 km; so this was an unpleasant find). The trail has lots of short steep hills with ruts, making it awful for wagons or carts. Once we were settled, the privacy the site offered was incredible. The site was huge (could easily have another couple join us). We could occasionally hear the neighbours chop wood; but that made us feel safer knowing there were other people close by. The lake was nice to swim in. Clear water; warm. Our site didn’t have a beach, just rocks to jump out on, so being a decent swimmer to climb in and out is recommended. We would go back again; but we would use a canoe or boat to haul things from the parking lot (near the falls) to the site.…

We stayed in Yurt #3. The campsite was huge, the largest we have ever stayed in. It was beautiful. The beach was always clean. We do a lot of camping & this was by far one of the quietest campgrounds we have ever been to. Limited services though so come prepared.

First stay in a Yurt. it was awesome. Tulabi falls campground has 6 yurts. all situated on a peninsula on Bird Lake's east shore. located in Nopaming Provincial park. yurts 2,3&4 are on an uphill trail that leads down the point. Yurt 1 is located closer to the main parking area. yurts 2,3&4 use the bathrooms located at the base of the hill from the point by the parking area. Yurts 4&5 share a seperate bathroom building located up a slight hill going northeast with their own drive up parking area for each yurt. Yurts 2-4 , use of provided wheeled wagons to haul up all your gear. (quite the workout !) remember , gear and supplies you wagon up, must be wagoned back down. ; ) Yurt #1 is adjacent to the parking lot washroom building. with a south view of the back of the south bay. the shortest of the wagon trips. Yurt#2 , which we stayed , is the 1st left off the trail at the top of the hill. the trail continues onto to yurt #3 (farthest) west , and #4 which is the trail to the right heading north. there is NO access to moor/dock/tie up a boat at any Yurt. Yurt#2 has it's own bridge leading to a huge double rock where the fire pit is that faces west. climbing the larger connected rock to the east , you can see yurt 1 and a view of the south eastern part of the bay. the west view from this rock was outstanding. no problem fishing/ casting off the rocks facing south and west. the south east rock behind the firepit location was a little steep, but carefully climbable. Yurt#3 , the farthest down the trail is located on the tip of the peninsula looking west. this yurt has a trail leading to a firepit area. further is all rock and walkable with another great view. Yurt#4 , is located on the top of a large rock formation with the most spectacular views looking high above and down Bird lake to the west. the deck is built around the natural rock formation of the Canadian Shield. With the best view, and other than the huge deck area, this yurt has the least amount of walkable area outside the yurt since its situated on the top of the rock cliff. Yurt#5 this is a drive up yurt. a huge deck and a view looking north. the deck also surrounds a crushed rock center. also located on a cliff. Yurt6 also a drive up yurt. the least of the views . a partial north view , but a treed view. a very large fire pit area. the park campground has a boat launch and a good sized beach. boats are beached in a select area by the beach. the boat launch was shallow. there are trails to the falls/ tulabi lake canoe launch.…

Stayed 2 days. Had so much fun that we didn't want to leave. Make sure you stay at least 3. Fishing is great. Nothing beats fresh trout on the grill. Add little red potatoes, onions and butter. Life is good. Afterwards head up to the bar for a few beers. Paul is a great entertaining bartender. Then back to camp for hot dogs over the fire. Night all.

One of the pretty places hidden in mb. Totally worth the 60km of gravel road. Great views from the yurts, clean facilities, and great photography. Great canoeing if you have one. Looks like group camping area is nice too.
