i loved this hotel from the first minute. We were a large group attending a workshop in Jordan and some of us had their family members too. The group was an international from EU and Arab countries. The hotel was clean with spacious rooms, great view, near to Petra (just a few minutes walk). The food they served was delicious... More

Was on a day trip to Petra from a cruise ship. Our coach was lucky to be allocated this hotel for our lunch. The buffet style food was very good, with hot and cold and plenty of choice. Cant comment on the hotel as a whole, as we saw only the public areas which looked clean and well presented. The... More

I stayed at this hotel for two nights in February this year, whilst visiting Petra. The hotel is situated about five minutes walking distance from the entrance to Petra. The hotel itself i found to be very clean and the staff extremely helpful and friendly.Any time i required anything from a scissor to my colthing being pressed, the staff were... More

My wife and I stayed at the Petra Palace Hotel in November 2011. We had spontaneously booked there after having found it on Tripadvisor. It is one of those hotels that one books for value for money only. We wanted a clean bed, a large enough room, and decent food as one spends most of the day in Petra (which... More

This was booked for me through our travel agency. I learned from previous reviews that portions of the hotel was renovated. I requested to our agent to book a renovated room. Unfortunately on check-in, that was not what we got. It wasn't until we explored the darkly lit hotel that we stumbled on the renovated section, and requested a change... More

unfortunately in Petra is normal to pay more than the Jordanian standards and to get... more or less the same as wherever else over there! nonetheless you can't miss it... so more than complaining the old structure, its very much faded furniture and its expensive internet connection, try to be happy with location, which is at a walking distance from... I came with a group so did not personally choose this hotel, however was very happu with it despite there being no free wi-fi. The buffet dinner was the nicest I had all week and the restaurant staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good too but let down by weak tea and coffee. The room was not so large but... More

My mum and I loved our 1 night stay at Amra Palace. Our room was clean, nice, comfy, ok sized although it was a bit dated and rather far away from the Petra Heritage site. Yet a very good price-quality ratio. Very helpful staff everywhere (front desk, restaurant, floor cleaners etc). Excellent breakfast buffet and very inexpensive dinner buffet. Good... More

You are in Petra to see the magnificent sites, not stay in your hotel room anyway, right? In the US this would be a Motel 6. Here, it worked just fine for us. As long as you go in with the right, positive attitude, the basic accomodations of this hotel should work out OK for you. It worked for us! More
