This hotel is laid out like a village, with the vast majority of rooms on the ground floor. Interesting concept but, unfortunately, it also means that the hotel covers a relatively large area and so it might be a bit of a hike through cobbled pathways to reach the small, very cold swimming pool, the decent but expensive restaurant (that... We stayed at the Taybet Zaman Hotel in Wadi Musa (near Petra) for 2 nights in April 2012. This is a most unusual and enchanting hotel complex designed like a small village. We were told that it was once a Bedouin village which had been converted into a comfortable hotel. The rooms are all single storey and have rustic charm... More

This hotel might have seen its golden age. We shared the hotel with 10 other people during our stay, which gave you the impression of a ghost village. The suite we were upgraded to had a nicely decorated living room and a pleasant bedroom. The bathroom however, is not worth the 5 stars at all. A/C was not very useful... More

It is far from your concept of a hotel. One floor, open, rooms on different locations built like bedouin caves. Apparently it was actually a village! So no two rooms are alike because each room was a house before. Rooms are huge and spacious but with modern amenities. I love the place. Some of my colleagues however experienced some malfunctioning... More

We had one night here before visiting Petra. We were given a beautiful room overhanging the valley with a wonderful sunrise over the mountains. Room was spacious and clean, comfortable beds, good food and helpful staff, apart from the grumpy omelette maker @ breakfast. We would return. More

The concept is fab but it feels almost unfinished. Not a flower or plant anywhere. Nice size room but rubbish bathroom. Tiny and cheaply furnished . Shower leaked all over the floor each time no matter how careful we were. A/c was noisy and only barely useful. Food average. Hotel staff responsive but indifferent. Pool area a disgrace . No... The concept / presentation of the hotel lived up to expectations, but overall we were a little disappointed that it could have offered so much more. There are various awards in the reception area from the 90s - presumably when the hotel opened - but it didn't feel as though it has developed much since. Pros: - Reasonable location and... More

An unusual hotel in a remote location......close enough to Petra Slightly tired but offset by spacious rooms, friendly helpful staff and good maintenance. This is not a 5* european hotel but a great place to stay if visiting Petra and you want time to relax when not pacing round tombs and rocks. Our party was two families with 5 kids... More

My mother and I stayed in this hotel in February 2012 for one night. The room was very cozy and warm (heated floors!), and I imagine it would be nice and cool in the summer. The room was huge, with a small sitting area with tv, the beds, a small room with wardrobe and then the large bathroom. The room... More

We were here March 14 '12. We love this hotel and have since we first hosted our group here in 1997 or so. Our clients love the atmosphere. Food is great, service great, rooms always clean and kept up. Rooms are stone and so very quiet, love the heated stone floors. Stay here and you will not be disappointed! Love... More
