We arrived at the Serena Mountain Lodge in time for lunch on the first day of our 8 day safari booked through JT Safaris. We had been on a shorter safari arranged by Julius two years ago and we knew he would not have chosen this lodge unless it was an excellent place for us to start our holiday and... More

We stayed in this Hotel in July 2011 while on tour with Smartours. We were very happy with the stay there. I'm not too fancy traveler either. Good thing about hotel are: - Food was excellent. - Staff is friendly. - Great location in the mountains so you can watch animals. - All rooms have view. - There are forest... More

Looked amazing, went to book online and decided to email them directly to make sure they could accommodate our group. Their price quote was 3 times higher than price on their website, which they wouldn't honor. Had plans to go up here, by the time we figured out they were running a price scam we couldn't get another place lined... More

Sorry for late review, I recently posted my review of my whole 5 day 3 lodge safari trip and wanted to add some photos so I was advised to review each of the 3 lodges and then I could post photos so I have copied and pasted parts of my whole review After a night in Nairobi we met our... More

Stayed for one night as part of a safari trip. Great place to stay as it is different from the other lodges we stayed in. The staff were very friendly and the food was the best we had during our 7 day safari - buffet for starters and desserts with a wide choice and main was ordered and delivered hot... More

I stayed here on two separate occasions during March 2012 and found the lodge to be an excellent place to relax. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Each meal was perfectly prepared with a good choice of starter from the buffet table. I was lucky enough to see a herd of 49 elephant along with buffalo, water buck, wart... More

This hotel must be one of the worst places I have ever stayed at. The rooms besides being small have absolutely no sound proofing at all. People on either side and above and below you may as well be in your bedroom as you can hear everything they are doing and saying, as well as being heard by everyone yourself.... More

stayed here for just 1 night in february 2012 and was pleasantly surprised by the accomodation and the food and service. even though the rooms are compact they are well located with great views from the balcony. the waterhole was in front of our balcony and there was a steady stream of animals coming and going all day and night.... We had 1 night here on our way to a safari. The water hole was a little disappointing - there were a few buffalo and deer there - but that was it. Some people in our party asked for a wake up during the night if a lion appeared - no lion appeared! The place is very rustic and tranquil... More

We stayed in several lodges on Safari recently and this has to be the most characterful. Rooms are fairly basic and small but its all about the atmosphere & view. Luckily it was fairly quiet at the lodge as we were right next to the bar, most guests were watching the waterhole anyway. Food was very good, as was the... More
