Had a warm greeting from the owner who helped us by recommending a place to eat which was an excellent choice. The room was very luxurious & decorated to a very high standard. The bathroom was a very good size & also done to a high spec. The breakfast was excellent & would most definitely recommend anyone to stay there. More

We arrived from the airport @ 0930 hours well before normal booking in time. After a warm greeting we were able to use our spacious and well appointed room immediately which was much appreciated after a very early flight. Breakfast was superb. I have no hesitation in recommending Allerton House as Carol and Chris are extremely hospitable and professional hosts More

We used this guest house for a short stay in the Borders. We had a beautifully presented room on the ground floor with 2 very comfy beds. The breakfast was 5 star standard with the basil leaf on the cooked tomato indicative of the care taken with the food preparation. Good value for money. More

This was the most beautiful and tastefully decorated B&B in the UK we ever stayed in. Lovely lounge with books to browse and DVDs that we were invited to watch. A nice way to finish off a hard day's rambling (from Kelso to Jedburgh) with listening to some classical music, drinking a glass of complimentary whisky and browsing through some... More

This week we stayed at Alleerton House for two nights, and what a treat this was. I have to say that the hosts were wonderful and their house is simply beautiful, with space for you to relax in front of a roaring fire (as we did one evening) and read the papers. The room was outstanding, spacious and very very... More

i have just returned from a two night stay at Allerton House and wish it could have been longer. Immaculaely clean with hosts who are welcoming but not intrusive. The single room bed was very comfortable and the fridge a useful touch. I would happily return to sample the full scottish breakfast.. . sounds delicious! More

Like helping yourself to sherry or whisky, use of a sitting room with real fire, use of books and DVDs and that’s before you go to the room. We stayed in the Queen Mary, a large suite room with sofa, modern TV, large comfortable bed, large modern bathroom with bath and even a small kitchen area with a fridge; this... More

We only stayed at Allerton House for one night but wished it had been for longer! Our room was very spacious (the Castle Room) with great views and a huge comfy bed. It even had a stool provided to step up to it, a lovely touch! Our hosts looked after us extremely well, from providing tips for the local area... More

We stayed at Allerton House for a couple of days and found our hosts to be welcoming and attentative. The room was a mix of traditional (very big bed we had to climb onto but was very comfy) and a modern bathroom. Facilities generally were very good, breakfast choice was not huge but very well cooked. A good base for... More
