This guest house was all you could ask for. The host was more than helpful with any questions that were put to him. The rooms were first class and the food was especially of the highest quality. Will be back again, that I am sure of.

I along with my partner visited the pretty village of Lochinver in Sutherland, to climb Suilven, the sugar loaf mountain. We were indeed fortunate to find the Polcraig Guest House, where the owner Cathel MacLeod, gave us a great welcome. We felt at home immediately as he was so friendly towards us and he couldn't have done more to help...

This was a quick three days in Lochinver to get out into the beautiful country that is Assynt and Coigach.
Cathel, who runs Polcraig, couldn't have been more welcoming and his knowledge of the local area is immense (see recent TV programme).
The B&B was excellent and met all our needs, not least a very efficient drying room!
All-in-all, an...

Great stay in very comfortable house overlooking the harbour. It was easy to find and situated in the centre of things. Cathel was very welcoming and gave us a great recommendation of the Riverside Bistro for dinner.

Polcraig Guest house was an excellent choice for me, the owners have thought of most of the irritations which can plague you when you select a place to stay, you know like the shower not being quit right, the breakfast being a bit of a poor effort, the bed not being comfortable, hearing the people next door etc etc. Well...

I enjoyed my stay here even though it was only one night, the house is beautiful, the bedromm had everything I required and the hospitality was amazing even though the owner had just lost his wife three before, thank you for you wonderful hospitality. June

My husband I stayed here for one night in April 2011. We liked it so much we went back for another night on our way back through. Great location in the middle of town (although close enough to nature that my husband encountered a female deer in the car park at about midnight). The hosts are lovely - and extremely...

My two friends and I have stayed at Polcraig for 5 days each June for the past 12 years and can recommend this guest house as one of the best. As indicated in other reviews the Polcraig breakfast is renowned - as well the 'full Scottish' the choice could be the smoked haddock of even the Scottish salmon fillet. This...

I have stayed at Polcraig regularly for the passed 5 years and have always had excellent treatment. The rooms are extremely comfortable, and the breakfasts outstanding (setting me up for a day of hill-walking etc.). The availability of internet in the rooms just introduced has provided extra icing on an excellent cake. Furthermore the owners are extremely helpful in advising...

We stayed at Polcraig for a long weekend whilst hill walking in Assynt, the hosts Cathel and Jean could not have been more helpful. There vast knowledge of the local area was of great help when planning our walks. The en-suit room we had a lovely sea view and was very clean and comfortable. I have never seen such a...
