We love this place. It's outdated but the people are nice it's like stepping back in time. It's a great place to go if you don't want crowds. It's clean yes, but everything needs replaced. We go as often as we can. There are a lot of activities the downside is eating... The is really though. Breakfast I'd honestly bring... More

Bear Valley lodge is an old, classic ski lodge and apparently, once upon a time (in the 60s), it was all the rage if the old photos of celebrities and athletes are any indication. In the center of the hotel there is a great lounge that is really very nice. There is a fireplace made with huge boulders and lots... More

We stayed at the Bear Valley Lodge for the first part of Presidents Day weekend. It was my husband and 2 kids so naturally we always look for roomy places. This place got great reviews on Yelp so we deicided to try it out. It's location is right on the edge of town, so it's close enough to walk in.... More

I recently spent a night here during non-skiing season. The room was adequate although the pillows were flat and the lighting was sparse in the room. The food was so-so. You have to park in a large lot across the street. The entry doors need to be automatic and not the standard swing doors in order to get luggage in... More

Yes, the condos are a little dated and in need of refurbishment but ours was spotless and very well equipped and at the end of the day we were basically only there for sleeping so we weren't too bothered. The staff were friendly and the shuttle service to the slopes was excellent. We ate in both the Creekside restaurant and... More

I spent the past five days at the rustic resort in Bear Valley. They have a beautiful lobby which is stockpiled with games and lots of space for your choice of mingling or not. The Food is most delicious which combined with the hospitable and timely staff makes it altogether a most wonderful experience. The pool has nine feet of... More

Arrived at 7:45 pm with my family for dinner. At 9:00pm our appetizer and food had still not arrived. The restaurant was not full, we were never asked if we wanted refills on our drinks or bread. Other tables were properly attended to. People that arrived after us had their food served. We asked several times about our order....no one... More

Rustic, charming hotel with a wonderful room having windows that open to fresh mountain air and a babbling brook below. Good food in the Pizza shop, including delightful churro sundae. Very good breakfast selection including their own homemade rolls and nut bread. Had much longer review written, but can't seem to get it sent. More

If you like pristine mountain air and the aroma of a pine forest, this is the place for you. If you like high altitude accommodations, this is the highest you are likely to find; almost three thousand feet higher than Tahoe and Yosemite Valley. If you like the feel of wooden buildings and windows that open so that you can... More

This hotel is conveniently close to the mountain (5 minutes). But, the rooms were very basic. The whole time while we were in the room we could here other people in their rooms on either side of us. We wanted to get up early, (for skiing) and eat some breakfast, but it didn’t open untill 7am. On the upside, there... More
