The Inn at Benicia Bay is a work in progress!!! The owner purchased it not long ago, and is in the process of restoring this historic site. The Inn keeper, Kimberly, was absolutely wonderful and SO hospitable and helpful!!! And we were able to have a wonderful conversation with the owner, Stephan!!! I'm not sure when the restoration will be... More

The only positive thing about this place is their proxcimity to downtown. The joy of staying in a bed and breakfast is to get that personal introduction to an area. That was sorely lacking in our stay. In fact we never met the inn keeper, the maid gave us our room key. The restaurant on site was closed.. they forgot to... More

Benicia is about 30 min from wine country and about a 30-45 minute ferry ride to San Francisco from the vallejo Ferry terminal not far from Benicia. This hotel is in the historic district, and is vey comfy and beautifully refurbished as an older historic home.

We departed after one night. There was no one reason, but an accumulation of disappointments and irritations. When we arrived we were told our room was upgraded. It was late, I was tired, hungry and totally caught off guard. Unfortunately, we accepted an alternate room. Prior to making our reservation, I spent a long time looking at the pictures and... More

A fantastic overnight option for visiting Napa and Somona valley! Benicia is within easy driving distance of both San Francisco and the wine region, it is quiet but that is nice after the SF city way of life. The Inn is excellent and the staff are very helpful, polite and welcoming. Plus, here you are not paying the wine region... More

The Inn besides being a B&B also hosts weddings and wedding receptions. We made a reservation a few days before the weekend. It turned out that they had a wedding and reception booked. The music was loud and we couldn't even hear our TV. Also,it just was awkward walking to our upstairs room past the wedding guests--of course we stood... More

We had made reservations----confirmed ---with the Union Hotel because we were familiar with it. Just a few days prior to our stay, I was contacted by Jim at the Inn at Benicia Bay. He informed me that my reservation at the Union Hotel was cancelled and that he could accomodate me. What luck! I loved our room, I loved the... More

This was a great mini retreat. The perfect short getaway that can recharge your from everyday hussle. We were going to a wedding in Benicia and decided to stayed at the Inn for the weekend. We stayed in "Captain Paladini" room, it was so spacious and romantic. The weekend was perfect, started the day with the most delicious banana bread... More

I have stayed here as a business traveler several times a year for the last 3 years. It is a great place. Warm, friendly innkeepers Jim and Jen make you feel welcomed without being intrusive. You can stay at a chain hotel with standard, square and unimaginative rooms BUT WHY? You can stay at this inn, with unique rooms, near... More

I travel frequently on business and have accounts in San Francisco, Walnut Creek and Napa. I stopped in Benicia one day for lunch and discovered a beautiful little town rich with history and The Inn at Benicia Bay. It is conveniently located for all my travels, with San Francisco and Napa about equal distance. Even if it wasn't , I'd... More
