My sister and I stayed at the San Simeon Pines Resort and very much enjoyed our experience. The property is beautiful and sprawling, at the north end of Moonstone Beach. I would call the resort charming and quaint - definitely dated, but the rooms are very large and clean. The breakfast was only adequate, but wasn't that important to us.... More

Good for the price. PROS: --Cheap --Good service - we were late. They say they close the office at 10pm but really they close it much sooner. We arrived before 10pm. But they had our room and key in an envelope tacked to the wall next to the office. --Clean - it is as clean as it could possibly be.... More

I stayed with my two sons, 9 and 12, for a trip to Hearst Castle, and we really enjoyed it. The room was comfortable, clean and clean smelling. It feels almost like you're in a cabin, and the beach is right across (or under) the road. After a long drive we unwound by playing shuffleboard, and there was also croquet... More

San Simeon Pines has a great location just a short walk from Moonstone Beach. It's also a pretty property sitting on several acres with many trees and even decent gardens. But this isn't enough to overcome its shortcomings. I did not have a reservation and when I asked the young woman at the front desk if there were any rooms... More

Been to Moonstone Beach many times and had never stayed at the Pines. It was the only place with a vacancy so we went for it. We really liked staying there. Our room had a fireplace. You have the feeling like you are staying in a cozy cabin. Really nice grounds that no other place has in that area. We... More

A great place to get away! Snuggled at the end of the road along Moonstone Beach, this hotel is definitely well-kept. It does not feel as commercial as the others on the strip, nor does it give the feel of a clone of some other property, as some of the others do. The front desk staff was very pleasant. While... The Pines is one of the oldest hotels on Moonstone Beach but it is very well kept up among huge beautiful trees and has a cute little golf course. Directly across the street there are benches among a grove of trees atop a bluff overlooking the ocean for spectacular sunset viewing. That's also an excellent place to begin a walk... More

We planned a last minute Cambria trip on a holiday weekend in January. Our goal was beach views, but not much was available so we choose this place. We were glad we did. This motel is older and at the end of Moonstone Drive, no beach views as a pine wooded state park is in front of it. It was... More

If you want to getaway from the city this is the place to go. From the cozy fireplace to the pool to the beach just walking distance away it was relaxation at its best. My family enjoyed it immensely, There is a golf course also.

This is the last motel along Moonstone Beach Dr, the ocean front street for Cambria. It is an older property, with very large open grounds (a large portion of which is a small silly golf course I doubt many people use). The staff was very courteous and the room was mid-sized and clean. Walking distance (quarter mile) to the main... More
