We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel. First night we were in main buildings room and later on for balance two nights we shifted to cottage. I loved my stay in the cottage in middle of woods. Heaters are installed in all rooms and in cottage to you have 2 heaters to keep the room warm. As per our... More

The chalets are perfectly adequate: beds comfortable and showers hot. A large dining room seems more like a canteen but again fine. The staff are all so helpful and it was lovely to have the gardens to wander through on our way to breakfast. More

After 7 days on the road, and on foot, in Bhutan my wife and I stayed three nights here prior to our flight home. After a couple of the hotels in which we stayed this was a welcome change. Garden chalets are tired but spacious, clean and airy with windows to four sides. Beds are comfortable as is the soft... More

We stayed in one of their cottages, separate from the main building, which overlooked the Paro Valley. The room itself was very comfortable, with good beds, nice bath, in reasonably good shape. The view was lovely. The room was heated by electric radiators which worked fine. As with most Bhutan hotels we visited, the meals were packaged with the room,... More

A pleasant setting in the hills overlooking Paro, with rather tired rooms, no heating in the bathrooms, and too much heating in the bedrooms. Main building has the feel of a 1970's Soviet-style government hotel, with stickers on the windows from many tour operators who are now long gone out of business, a very dim and dingy reception area, and... I was with my colleague in Bhutan on business from the 03rd-09th Feb '12. On arrival at the Olathang Hotel we where no even greeted by a staff member. Value for money I would say this Hotel is not worth it...the setting is in the woods...why would you want to be in the woods when you are in Bhutan? The... More

Set in the woods, was a perfect setting. Food and service was so far the best I found in Bhutan, though quiet in February. I was there doing a Ham Radio holiday and found everyone very accommodating. No complaints what so ever. Food delivered to your cottage if wanted by very helpful and polite staff. Will definitely go back and... More

We stayed here on our first night in Bhutan. It was a lovely introduction to what we could expect from Bhutanese hotel accommodation (it will get you through, don't expect what you would get for the price in any other country). We were in a private cottage, and had dinner served in the room since no one else was at... More

Hotel Olathang was quite lovely. We had twin rooms alongside each other. They had beautiful carved windows. It was great to slide them across and capture the lovely breeze flowing over the lawn area. The beds seemed short but that didn’t surprise us as we had encountered that before at other hotels in Bhutan. There is a large lounge area... More

We stayed here on our first and last nights in Bhutan. The cottages are set in a pine forest on the side of a hill overlooking the Paro valley. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food at the restaurant is good. Watch out for the chili cheese, the national dish. It is very hot. The furnishings are basic... More
