It felt like the staff here was not as friendly and much more reserved. The service was not of the same caliber (ie everytime you leave your room, they freshen it up, they come chat with you and greet you by name etc etc...perhaps this is due to the layout of the hotel). The acoustics in the rooms was AWFUL.... More

Some of us would pay whatever demanded to acheive pure bliss, while the rest of us realize that the feeling of luxury, well being and happiness might be acheived for a lot less than what you have to pay at the Amankora Paro. The Amankora experience is something out of the ordinary, let there be no doubt about it. The... More

Stayed in the Thimphu lodge for 3 nights. Very serene and calm with good food and service. Rooms are large and well appointed. Unfortunately, I was there for business so the lack of a television and WIFI in the room was a problem. Otherwise a perfect little getaway. Will definitely return for a holiday. More

My husband and I went to Bhutan in May for our honeymoon for 8 days after spending 4 days in Istanbul. In hindsight we should have spent our entire 2 weeks in Bhutan at the Amankora resorts. We are very active people and limited our stay to a week because we were concerned that there would not be enough for... More

The rooms at Amankora Paro are appointed similarly to all the other Aman properties in Bhutan, rich yet minimalist. Warm woods with earth tone fabrics. High ceilings. Huge picture windows bringing light and awesome scenery into the room. Wood burning stones, providing romantic ambiance (Conventional heat is also afforded to all rooms). Twin showers and twin sinks in every room... More

Wow - we arrived into a world unlike most other Asian destinations we had previously visited- delightfully hovering between traditional ways and the advancement of the modern world - please stay as you are Bhutan , the foresight of your king and the acceptance of your people to the preservation of your environment and culture is truly exceptional . We... More

When travelling to a place like Bhutan, you really need to stay at a hotel like Amankora to make things easier. The conditions of roads are really bad. I can't imagine travelling on those bumpy roads without having our own SUV. I love the rooms of Amankora. Some people may not like the idea of open bathrooms, but i found... More

We did a 10-night journey at the Amankora in early May. We finished our trip with 2 nights at the Paro lodge (our itinerary was: 1N Thimpu at Taj Tashi because Aman was closed due to fire, 2N Gangtey, 3N Bumthang, 2N Punakha, 2N Paro). We had read some disappointed reviews about Paro so we had lowered our expectations, which... More

Everything was perfect. The ability to travel between lodges is seamless. They track your desires from lodge to lodge so you don't feel like you are spending nights in different hotels but rather one large one across the country. A totally synchronized experience. More

We were very fortunate to be able to have our wedding at the Amankora Paro. The entire staff participated in all aspects of our Buddhist wedding ceremony including making arrangements for beautiful his/hers Bhutanese wedding outfits, reserving a Rinpoche ( a reincarnated Buddhist lama) to perform the ceremony, arranging for a private blessing at the beautiful 7th century temple, Kyichu...
