This would be a first-rate hotel in any country -- large, comfortable rooms, lovely grounds and setting, excellent facilities and delicious cuisine -- but the Bhutanese touches make it very special indeed. Beautiful decorations and architecture, gracious and helpful staff. The pictures on the hotel's website don't lie. It's in a quiet location, but a fair distance from "downtown" Paro.

This is an amazing place. Peaceful and beautiful. The rooms/studios are tastefully furnished and the king size beds are very comfy. I especially appreciated the floor heating which makes cold nights in Paro more bearable. We also had a little balcony overlooking the valley and the river. Only cons: A little pricy and at times inflexible concerning spa and sauna... More

After 10 days of driving through the country on the bumpiest roads I've ever witnessed, we wanted to indulge in luxury for our last 2 nights in Bhutan: Cannot think of any better place to do so then Zhiwa Ling Hotel in Paro!!!! Lobby is stunning in Bhutanese style and a great blend of old and new. Rooms are a... More

A simply stunning lobby that took nearly a decade to build. Rooms are a delightful blend of old and new. Rooms are well appointed with wireless internet and in-floor heating (a wonderful treat after a cold day of treking). The dining room (breakfast and dinner) is excellent by Bhutan standards (the Indian dinner offerings are quite good). I've stayed here... More

We stayed two nights in a cottage room. The main hotel is awesome. Beautiful painted wooden galleries, staff very helpful and courteous and food very good. They have an excellent pastry chef. We were given a large room (two queen beds) with a sitting area and balcony. Heated floors were welcome in the chilly nights. Only complaint is that we... More

Stayed here twice on recent trip to Bhutan. Lovely, spacious suites with balconies overlooking the mountains. Relaxing and so richly appointed public spaces. Lobby is all carved and painted wood-so beautiful. Staff could not have been more gracious as are the Bhutanese people. Food was excellent. So nice to have heated floors not only in the bathrooms but in all... More

Stayed for two nights at the beginning and the end of 10 days Bhutan trip. Hotel is very beautiful and rooms are spacious and nicely furnished. It's really joy to stay here. Creaky wooden floors is only complain I can imagine. The restaurant provides alacarte menus for up to 35 USD and food is really a treat after boring Bhutanese... More

The four of us had the Royal Raven Suite. A fabulous suite of two large bedrooms, 2 large bathrooms, a living room, a dining room and our own Buddhist shrine. The location is excellent for a trip to the Tiger Monastery. The food was only rated good, but the prices for both the food and drink were very reasonable. Two... More
