It took me forever to decide on a hotel in Carmel... I'm really glad I decided to stay here. It was perfect. We were able to walk everywhere, the breakfast was great everyday, and the hotel manager was able to give us excellent recommendations on restaurants and site seeing in the area. I would definitely stay here again! More

We had such a lovely stay here. Reception was great, very helpful in finding us " eat inside dog friendly restaurants" (there are a few), helped us with our lame dog, welcome dog beds and placemats, dog treats with our coffee in the morning, wonderful room with a fireplace and kitchen...they even found us a wonderful dog-sitter on short notice.... A very rather historical and quaint lodging. It is a little need of TLC , as the furnishings are kinda tired looking. The draw is cottage almost hobbit-like, 1940's garden and court yard are absolutely stunning. This place is wonderful. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The Vagabond is tucked in a beautiful location surrounded by stunning trees. The reception area is very cosy with a fireplace and wine and cheese. The room was large, light, and airy and had a lovely bathroom with bathrobes.
