Hospitable, clean, light, roomy - good value. Just up the hill from all the shops - everything within walking distance. Relahtively quiet and out of the downtown bustle. Easily accessible to main road to Carmel Valley for wine tasting and to Monterey for whale watching. Will definitely return to stay with these properties.

This was our 1st trip to the Forest Lodge inn, and we were amazed by the scenery and ambience of the quaint cottages that they had to offer. We stayed in the Garden room, with our 2 daughters, plenty of room for all. I am in a wheelchair, and they even went out of their way to make sure my... More

My husband and I have been here twice by ourselves, and then today we checked in with our 2 daughters and extended family. We have always received the "Winter Special" rates which is significantly lower than their listed price ($113 a night, down from $275). The first two times we stayed, we were treated wonderfully and respectfully, and breakfast baskets... More

My husband and I took some out of town guest to Baja last night and I was so impressed with the service, our waiter and the manager( Chris) were AWESOME. Thank you for great service and the food was great. I had SHRIMP FAJITA and it was DELICIOUS! I will be back!

My girlfriends & I just spent a lovely evening at the Forest Lodge in Carmel. The property is charming with three newly renovated cottages that give the modern comforts we all want, while preserving the quaint "Carmel" atmosphere. The Dali Suite features a "sitting room" with a fireplace where you can relax & enjoy friends & family. The "sister property"... More

If you are looking to get away and relax this is the place. My husband and I have stayed here for our wedding and then the past two years for our anniversary. The people (especially Melissa) who run both the Forest Lodge and the Lamplighter Inn are friendly and helpful. They dropped by an adorable basket for breakfast (yogurt, hard... More

My fiance and I attended a friend's destination wedding in Carmel. We booked the Dali room and couldn't be happier. The room was clean, very well equipped, incredibly spacious, and the bathrooms were great. The spacious living room and fireplace was just what we needed after a long day hiking in Big Sur. In addition, the location was perfect, being... More

Carmel has so many different options for lodging and when you are coming all the way across the country you worry you haven't found the right place to stay. There is no worry with Forest Lodge. It was so relaxing and quiet. The breakfast delivered to the room was great and it was fun to eat outside in the courtyard.... More

We stayed at the Dali Suite at Forest Lodge. The photographs on the web site are for the lamplighter inn so we were disappointed to find that the layout was totally different. Parking was a bit tight - but there was enough space for the number of rooms. The earlier you got back the better space you got. It was... More

First, the staff are amazing!! They are so welcoming and helpful. We stayed in the Ocean Avenue room for 4 days for our Carmel wedding. I LOVE this room. Beautiful. Breakfast was brought to our room every morning. Hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit, bagels and English muffin. (the eggs are very fresh...which makes a hard boiled egg harder to... More
