I've just spent three nights here with a friend. We were attracted by the website and the reasonable rates. We inspected it quickly before we committed to the stay. It seemed quirky, but acceptable. It was only after we booked in that we noticed how sloppy the housekeeping was. Dust on the TV screen, stained, dirty carpet, uncatalogued life forms... More

I went with my best travel buddy....we have stayed at 2-3 star hotels in Europe and expected same from here. My friend has stayed here for years in past but not recently (last 10 yrs) I will take her word that it was once charming. Now....just a dirty property with uninterested staff. Requests like extra sheet, hair dryer and even... More

I have stayed at this property for more than 20 years, but, not in the last 8+ years. What used to be a quaint, modest European type B&B is now a shabby, dirty, smelly place! Although the location is perfect, the floors are filthy as is the communal kitchen. I cleaned out the communal refrigerator which had milk over a... More

I enjoyed my stay in Coronado - partially because of this place. Close to beach, Hotel del Coronado, downtown and restaurants. Basic coffee kitchen 'bed and breakfast' food in the morning. Liked the front hallway sitting area. However, there is no air conditioning. Got hot one of the days. Nice airflow though. Parking is spotty. Needs internet connectivity. Quiet location... More

The location is great, but that's the end of it. The website boasts of things like "sunny windows", "luxury class" toiletries, "still-warm" breakfast muffins, and ceiling fans. The experience is quite different - good luck trying to sleep here. Since there is no A/C, you will most likely struggle between wanting to be cool (fan-on, windows open), and for it... More

The bed was comfortable - sole positive experience. Shower failed to heated up. Furniture in the room had the feel of something picked off the curb from an eviction. TV had only local channels - no cable ! Liquor store across the street was handy. For $85 @ night........better than sleeping on the beach I suppose. More

I stayed here for seven nights. If you are a chain-hotel lover or require a lot of frills and attention, then this is not the hotel for you. But if you are looking for a charming inn-style experience with an amazing location and affordable price, I highly recommend The Village Inn. The staff is very friendly and is very accomodating... Myself and my family have spent several weeks here over the last 18 months. The price is great. It is a great place. The beach is only 1000 feet away. You do not need to drive. The main street with every type of shop/food is only 200 feet away. The Del is only 1.5 blocks away. Just take a taxi... More

We stayed at the Inn for two nights, we walked in and asked for availability. We had a choice of two rooms, the smaller one on the 1st floor had parquet and was bright, while the larger one on the 2nd floor had old carpeting and was more stuffy. We opted for the smaller one, even though the bed was... More

Could not sleep for mystery noises from the ceiling, sounded like a rat chewing on the insulation and then scurrying somewhere with it. Front desk pretended to be shocked...no never seen a rat anywhere Sir. More
