Been here before and will be back again! Cookies and tea upon arrival and it was like coming home again! We stayed in the Glasgow Rose room ground floor, very comfortable and has plenty of storage space and luggage racks. Just minutes from the valley floor and all of the splendor of Yosemite Park. We watched the Ravens and the... More

Convenient (a 5 minute ride) to the Yosemite Valley entrance, the Blue Butterfly is a relatively new, clean and comfortable alternative to the massive motels (Yosemite View & Cedar Lodge) on the same entry highway. Rooms are clean & comfortable, large deck overlooking the Merced River - and a hearty breakfast. Two notes: The Blue Butterfly is 'landlocked' amid the... More

We picked this cute little B&B on account of it's excellent TripAdvisor reviews, and weren't let down! The property is beautiful and after arriving here after a 2000+ room hotel in Las Vegas, was a nice homely change for us. 'Proper' tea, cookies and an early night in the Poppy room on the ground floor followed. A little noise as... More

Although the Blue Butterfly is located at the back of a motel complex it is most definitely in an amazing location right on the Merced river, where Hummingbirds come to feed. We stayed in the Lotus room which has it's own deck overlooking the river, the room itself is huge with a very comfortable bed, sofa and table and chairs... More

My wife and I stayed two nights in the California Poppy room, and the only "noise" we experienced was the sound of the river, which we found to be relaxing. We will stay here again and will recommend the property to our friends and family. Liz and Ron are wonderful, attentive and knowledgeable hosts, who can reliably recommend things to... More

Pros •Ron and Liz were lovely and very accommodating. • Breakfast was good • The house was beautiful and main balcony onto the river was great (if warm enough to enjoy) Cons We stayed in the California Poppy room which was nice but noisy as it was on the ground floor. We could hear every word spoken in the lounge... More

The California Poppy room is downstairs next to the lounge and the kitchen...definitely noisier than the rooms upstairs (which are quieter and much larger, and have a balcony over the river)...but we do always quiet down by 10pm or earlier...depending upon how gregarious the guests are, and I do have to make a bit of noise fixing breakfast, starting my... Don't let the title of this review fool you - the owners of this bed and breakfast are 100% American, and the landscape Blue Butterfly is in is unmistakably Yosemite. On the veranda you look out over the Merced, and turning your gaze up you'll see the hallmark granite. My experience of this place is that it's an oasis of... More

My wife and I stayed here October 2011 as part of a two week tour of California. I was weary on arrival but soon warmed to the lovely hosts Ron and Liz. The building is purpose built and in a stunning location overlooking the river to the rear. We had a fresh and varied breakfast cooked for us each morning... More

We stayed here back in September 2011 for 3 nights and it made our tour - Ron and Liz are great hosts. Loved the chat's with Ron about all things Porsche and BMW on the porch with a beer. Lovely breakfasts, surrounded by humming birds and beautiful scenery. Great advice regarding walks, things to see and places to visit. Liz... More

My husband and I stayed here in November of 2011. We had never done a B&B before but thought we'd give it a try. First of all, Liz and Ron are a hoot! Liz always had some little goodies ready for you to eat and both gave great advise for our hikes to Yosemite. Turns out, Ron was a rescue... More
