The location couldn’t be better for exploring Pingyao , staff are friendly and have enough English to be helpful. Rooms are full of character , food is great and atmosphere is relaxed . Can highly recommend the chicken soup !!

If you are looking for a funky, little hostel in the middle of Ping Yao, with good food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff that speak English, then this is your place!
The owner, Rainbow, was incredibly helpful and friendly--we felt welcomed from the moment we stepped through the door. There is not one negative thing I can say about our...

Despite the fact that we had booked over a month in advance (confirmed and paid); they were overbooked the first night we were there and put us in a dumpy overflow room down a long dark alley in a noisy courtyard with no internet. We complained and they moved us to a better room, but in the same location. The...

We have spend the New Year's of 2012 in Pingyao and around. You can hardly call Tian yuan kui hotel - a hostel. It's amazing, very cute hotel located within the city walls on the central street. It has a great restaurant, where we had New Year dinner. As for desert option - apples in caramel sauce is very much...

We really enjoyed this wonderful inn that's full of courtyard style character. The staff are to be congratulated on excellent and friendly service. Our room was very clean and warm. Try the Chinese breakfast rather than Western choices, not that there was anything wrong with Western, just a good chance to try Chinese. All meals we had were excellent. Staff...

Love love love my room with a toasty kang bed! Nicely appointed large room with a large, sparkling clean granite bathroom. The brick courtyard complex is charming and authentic. Nicest feel of old China of any place I have stayed in 3 weeks.
Take the pickup service they offer. Driver is friendly and his van is sparkling clean. Bonus: it...

During our trip through China this hostel and its restaurant was recommended to us by other travellers (a French family) and arriving in Pingyao we tried it in stead of the planned Harmony Hostel in the same street. The location of this hostel is perfect as it is in the centre of the city, in the main street. The hostel...

We stayed for two nights at this wonderful hotel. The rooms are exceptional, with wall to wall beds and ensuite shower room. It is extremely clean. We were warmly welcomed and looked after by Jonathan, whose family have run the hotel for over 100 years. Everyone was very friendly and helped us with anything we asked, from booking train tickets...
