We stayed only one night in Lee Vining at the Hess House before going through the Tioga Pass to Yosemite. This is a great place to stay, both the bedroom and bathroom look great and the owner is very friendly. The fresh breakfast we received in the morning was just yummy! Highly recommended.

We stayed for six nights while hiking the Tuolumne Meadows/Upper Yosemite, and had a great stay. Lee Vining is just outside the entrance to the park, and the Hess House was quiet, comfortable, and within walking distance of all the eateries and services in the town. Stayed here for four nights to visit Bodie Ghost Town, Mono Lake and Mammoth Lakes before we headed across Tioga Pass to Yosemite. Comfortable beds, nice owner, excellent breakfast, quiet location (in town but not on the main road). This is why you stay in a b and b and not a bland hotel... Great value all round...

The owner is extremely welcoming and attentive, supplying a lot of info prior to arrival. Best breakfast of our two week holiday, and nice to find a hostess who genuinely cares for her guests and knows about the local area. Spotless and welcoming Hess House is one of the best B&Bs.There are only two bedrooms, but you also are welcome to a lovely living and dining room, as well as the garden. Stayed at Hess House with my wife for two nights recently. Vineca, the owner, was a great host and made us both feel very, very welcome.
