This is the second time we've stayed here - love being Downtown and away from the madness of West Hollywood/Beverly Hills. Foyer is dark and private, check-in process is smooth, rooms are huge and have everything you need. Rooftop bar is iconic and absolutely worth spending some time up there. Complimentary wifi is great and I wish all hotels would... More

Definitely not your standard hotel (that's probably why the logo is "The Standard" standing upside down). The decor is definitely 60's mod. It took some getting use to. You either are going to love it or hate it. As other reviewers have stated, it is very minimalist, no bedside tables. bed on a raised platform, no dressers but cubicles to... More

For $199 per night the hotel room resembled a backpackers hostel more than a hotel. I understand that the 'style' is supposed to be minimalistic but there's a difference between minimalistic and just not properly furnished. No bedside tables, tv on the floor, bathroom bench too low and the bed was also on the floor perched only on some extended... More

Lindsay at the front desk was the best. Super helpful!! The views from the roof top bar are the best on downtown. More

You really need to do your homework before deciding on this hotel. Service was very good. Valet was very frieindly and attentive. The front desk staff was very welcoming. Opening the door to your room is when you're hit with this blast from the past 70's decor.. You begin to think.. Did I really pay this much for this hotel?... More

My mum and I stayed here and we found it comfortable, the food fabulous, really fresh. The staff really lovely, went out of their way to help with tours etc. Easy to get taxi's and to the subway. The bathroom very spacious and will stay there again when we visit. More

And I knew that going in, since I read many of the helpful reviews below. But I made some discoveries on my own, not all of them good. But I’ll start with the ones that are. The location is very convenient for downtown, just seconds from the 6th Street exit off the 110. If you’re going to be coming and... More

We stayed using a deal from Jetsetter. Not planning to be in a hotel much over a weekend visit to LA we didn't want to pay too much for a room where we would not spend a lot of time. I read all the warnings... it's a hip and trendy, happening spot for young Angelenos. And so we felt OLD!... More

And that is what is supposed to be...and the first hint of it is that their hotel sign is upside down. I guess some would say it is a trendy, chic sort of hotel, but I and my two friends did NOT like it at all. To me it looked like and felt like a college dorm room. The beds... More

First and foremost, thank you for your feedback. We are very happy to hear that there were things about the hotel you enjoyed. Chef Micah has created a few great new menus for the restaurant and we pride our staff on being warm, welcoming and helpful - so glad this was your experience! The minimal design aspect of our rooms... More
