We just love Mendocino and I only wish we got here more often than we do. We try a different B&B every time and I think Grindle is our favorite to date - particularly because it is in town and you can easily walk everywhere. The room was lovely (Treeview), the inn is clean and nicely decorated and the afternoon... More

We stayed at the Joshua Grindle 7 years ago (how time flies). We needed a getaway and drove the scenic drive thru the Alexander Valley from Sonoma County. There are many wineries along the way and it was a beautiful drive. When we arrived at the Joshua Grindle, owner Cindy came out to welcome us back. She gave us a... More

We recently had a brief but wonderful visit to Mendocino for the first time. It was a last minute trip and we were able to book in at Josh Grindle Inn. What a great place! The rooms were cozy without being too prissy, as some inns are, and were spotlessly clean. The innkeepers have thought of every detail; lovely toiletries,... More

Once again we chose Joshua Grindle Inn, Mendocino, for part of our trip on the coast. The breakfasts are superior, nights are restful, and with cozy big fireplace. We stayed in the North Cypress of the cottage. Innkeepers keep on top of everything and will always remain two of our very best friends!!

We have been traveling to CA every year for the past 30 years to escape the Northeast winter and for 28 years we have spent 3 or 4 days in Mendocino. We can't imagine staying anywhere but the Joshua Grindle Inn! Charles and Cindy are the perfect innkeepers - warm, friendly and full of suggestions for things to do and... More

My wife, college-age daughter and her best friend, spent a night at Grindle traveling north and another night on our way back, so we experienced four of the rooms. Each room is an experience – a delight to enter (with a welcoming half bottle of wine beckoning), comfortable for visiting, reading, sleeping. The bathrooms are very nice with high quality... More

We had the privilege of staying two nights at the Joshua Grindle Inn recently as part of a holiday where we stayed at a number of top hotels. There wasn't a flat screen TV with satellite channels and DVD or mini-bar or gymn facilities but there was a very warm welcome from Christine then an equally warm welcome from the... More

This is one place that we have returned to over and over again. We began going to Joshua Grindle Inn nearly 20 years ago, and keep going back. Why? The peaceful, quiet atmosphere, white crowned sparrows singing outside your window, no media, no hassles, excellent breakfast in the sun on the porch, the rustic garden, the fabulous massages, the quaint...
