Like many others, whenever humanly possible, I check reviews before checking in. My husband and I had to go to Modesto for a business meeting at the Doubletree in Modesto, Ca. He travels alot, and any semblance of a good night's sleep is sooooo important! In the past, he's given me a hard time about my obsession with referring to... More

Omg, this hotel is soooo loud!! The train runs all night long and during the day. I got no sleep last night and I have to fly all day. The hotel is very clean and the beds are comfy. I love double trees beds, but not with a train running by my head! More

Stayed one night as part of a tour so no idea if good value. Extra toiletries etc. available on request so we got earplugs as the main railway line is very close to the hotel and very long trains go by. Our bags took half an hour to arrive. Room was clean and we faced the pool. There was a... More

This is a high-rise, modern hotel. The room was very large with a king size bed; love seat and coffee table, and a desk. There is a flat screen TV; coffee maker, and a small fridge. There is a for-fee internet service, but there are also room packages which include internet. Bathroom was large and modern with plenty of super... More

Trip Advisor is my travel bible. I rely on all the reviewers whenever and wherever I travel. I had to be in Modesto two nights for business and, it was with some reluctance, that I made a reservation at The Doubletree because of all the negative reviews. I booked a corner room for $174 per night which included valet parking,... More

Our son's little tackle football league was playing the Modesto team. We drove the night before to Modesto and made a reservation at this hotel, online it look like a nice hotel, once we got there we were not impressed. There is no spa-online they advertised there is a spa on site-,swimming pool not clean, room too small, we requested... More

Any good delivered by this property is quickly overwhelmed by the non stop train traffic outside your window. There must be a rule that the train engineers are to blow their horns as they pass the intersection very close to the main entry of the hotel. If you are a light sleeper, I'd suggest staying elsewhere in Modesto, far from... More

This is a very interesting hotel, similar to other Doubletree properties that don't really have a good identity from the Hilton mothership. Hilton can't seem to decide what Doubletree's identity is, so they never let the properties get to the level of quality you see at a newer Hilton Garden Inn or Hilton property. This hotel is good currently, but... More

I've stayed here a couple of times while in Modesto and have mixed reviews. The first time the stay was good. Nice, clean room (very dated), but it was clean. I was on an upper floor and it was very quiet. Also, they didn't charge me for parking. The second time that I stayed here was much different. They "upgraded"... More

Recently stayed at the Doubletree as part of a large birthday party staged in Modesto. I am familiar with Modesto and the original construction of this property but had never stayed there until this trip. You will see that I have rated this hotel overall very good, but I must acknowledge some shortcomings. My wife and I stayed 2 nights... More
