Most sites have shade but some are better than others. Creek runs through camp ground - essential if you go in the summer - gets very hot. Bring water shoes to walk/ hike in creek. Best bets are to find water holes to swim in. Site was nice, fire pit, BBQ, table. Stayed 3 nights, one night was very loud... More

We had a great time dispite the huge spiders (tarantulas) running around. The camp host knew nothing about, said he never saw them and told us how he hated being there. The place was unkept bathrooms had no paper by the end of the week campsite brush was over grown minus this kids had a great time down by the... More

Ojai, CA is beautiful and Wheeler Gorge Campground is situated a nice drive about 2 hours from Los Angeles. I went there for a weekend in July for a friend's 28th birthday, but a weekend was definitely enough for me. The campground is a series of side-by-side campsites you can reserve, so I advise taking a long look at the... More

I love this place and have been three times with my family. There are 2 things to keep in mind when considering this campground. 1) NO RUNNING WATER 2) Lots of poison oak (lots) Site 13 where we stayed had poison oak surrounding the entire site. We were careful the whole time an we were able to not touch. Beware... More

The campground runs along a small river. Nice easy hike along the river--big boulders for sunning. We went on Easter weekend. It was over packed with people putting up more tents than allowed, lots of kids, lots of music. I am hoping this is due to it being a holiday. Going to give it another try. Also, it depends which... I really enjoyed staying at this campground. Lots of trees, enough to hang our hammock. No fishing in this area which was a big bummer but if you travel back down the road there is a cool swimming hole off the highway. At night all you hear is the sound of the rushing creek, very soothing, which was just steps... More

Nice campground, however the flys / bugs are very anoying. Everyone got multiple bites. After one week the bites still itch and have not gone away. Next time I would bring some heavy artillery to combat the flying unfriendlys. The only solice I have is that on our last day I bought a fly trap in Ojai and at least... More
