We are fans of history and have traveled on several stretches of historic Route 66, so when our travels took us to the San Bernadino area, this choice was obvious. The "tipis" are about as authentic as a three-dollar bill, but the property and the "tipis" were great fun, in our view. The queen double-double we had was surprisingly roomy... More

You can experience a place that was kitschy even in its heyday over a half-century ago when "family vacations" were at their peak. We are in our 50's and we attended a wedding in the area. My wife wanted to stay at someplace different, so she booked a room at the Wigwam (hint: book online for a 10% discount, instead... More

If you need somwehere to stay for the night around San Bernardino you can't miss this. We'd had a long drive from Williams, Arizona that day and were made to feel most welcome by the guy at reception and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms seem bigger on the inside than outside (for fellow Englishmen - it's like the... More

Stayed here as part of our Route 66 trip in October 2011. Although it's not in the greatest part of town, it was a welcome sight as we headed down Foothill Boulevard having setting off from Las Vegas that morning. The rooms are quite spacious, giving them a tardis-like feeling as they don't look that big from the outside, but... More

If you are in the area or passing through and looking for somewhere to stay then this is a great place! Like many other reviews have stated there's not a lot to do in the area and the area has definitely seen better days, but this place makes up for that! Funky if slightly dated rooms, very close to the... More

This could have been great fun. But for starters it's not a nice area The lady at check in was surly. The wigwam smelled very musty so not a great experience. To give them their due, the room and bedding were clean; but the shower trays need replacing as these let the bathrooms down. On a very busy road so... More

This place is a riot! The teepees are much bigger than I thought they would be. I'm a tall guy and I certainly don't feel cramped inside. The bathrooms look original, and the bed is comfy. If anything the teepees were a bit chilly with the cold weather outside, but they do have heating. The 'old-timers' strewn across the property... More

When I turned on Rt. 66, my heart leaped with joy. The sihght of the wigwams made me smile, the grounds and the "room" were very clean and neat. I have read that the area is bad, but as a female traveling alone, I felt safe. It was.just an older area, plus you are staying on the mother road. Get... More

Staying at the WigWam Motel in San Bernadino, CA was a spontaneous idea on a Thursday afternoon. Luckily there was one room available for the weekend. While surfing around on the internet later that day, I read a lot of reviews saying how run-down and dangerous the area is and that the motel has seen better times… well, I can... More

Due to a late arrival and early morning plans, my partner and I were only able to spend about 9 hours at the Wigwam, but glad we had the chance to stay in the authentic Route 66 motel. Our room was immaculately clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower had good water pressure and temperature and I only wish... More
