The delightfulness of the surroundings was only exceeded by the graciousness of our hosts. Our room was beyond our wildest expectations. It was clean, open, airy, energetic and delightful with the fireplace and jacuzzi like frosting on a delicious cake. We felt this was a very unique and special home away from home. The grounds were exquisitely tailored for a... More

I have stayed at the Cheshire Cat Inn on two separate occasions and both times was very impressed with the attentiveness of the staff, the delicious breakfasts, and the impeccable and gorgeous surroundings. I've stayed in the main house as well as in one of the cottages (when I was with a larger group) and both accommodations were delightful! It's... More

We have stayed here several nights each month this year, and have nothing but high praise for the staff and accommodations. On more than one visit we have had to extend our stay and the staff have always found the means to meet our needs. Innkeepers, Bharti and Connie, have always welcomed us as if we were family. That's a... More

I love Victorian homes and small luxury hotels, but I am admittedly not an expert on B&B's (yet). I often get turned off by too much floral wall paper and lace trim. But I have been hearing about the Cheshire Cat for years and longing to stay there. I knew this place was all about charm and character and I... More

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend, and we were not disappointed! Easy to find, great location, great parking, clean, wonderful people, gorgeous rooms and grounds. As a cat lover, I was thrilled to see all the little hidden spots where there were cat states or "cat crossing" signs. We stayed in the Queen of Hearts room -... More

I would highly recommend the Cheshire Cat Inn. We were warmly greeted and the balcony room(Alice) that we stayed in was wonderful. The food was served on time and delicious. The H'orderves and wine served in courtyard each day at 5pm were much appreciated after a day out seeing the Santa Barbara sites. The gardens on the property were amazing!... More

The wonderful parts were the 1920s house/inn, the antique decor, the yard, my own entrance into my suite with a two-person jacuzzi tub, terrycloth lined bathrobes, afternoon wine and cheese, and last, but not least, the innkeepers, especially Bharti. The breakfast on the weekend was okay. The french toast on Sunday was a small portion but filling. And there's always... More

This wonderful, immaculate Victorian B&B is in a quiet, residential neighborhood yet only one block from the restaurants and shops on State St. While the price may be a bit higher than other B&Bs, it is well worth it. Everything is first class - bedding, thick towels, terry-lined bathrobes, toiletries. One can even purchase the bathrobes - used for $50... More

Stayed during the week and the breakfast was not a breakfast, had better at a Residency Inn. Expected a breakfast from a bed and breakfast. We stayed in a cottage and the bed was as hard as a rock. The innkeeper was friendly and the lights were left on when we arrived late. Location is close to great restaurants. Might... More

We were disappointed not to have met your expectations. We do provide firm mattresses and will check this particular mattress to see if a replacement is necessary. We serve an expanded continental breakfast Monday through Friday which is popular with most guests, but your comments hasten us to update our web site with breakfast menus which will help to inform... We stayed here for one night, loved the outside (that's what gives the inn a 4 rather than a 3). It was a great location, yes a bit of a walk to the beach, but the weather is so nice is Santa Barbara who doesn't love a good walk! Parking was easy and breakfast very tasty. However, this seems to... More

Thank you for your positive comments about the Inn and Santa Barbara. We regret that you did not have enough time to explore the Inn which has a wide variety of accommodation to choose from. Many of our rooms have just been updated with either wooden flooring or new carpeting and more contemporary furniture. The “Duchess’ is one of our... More
