We are an off-grid jungle farmstay in Lenggong, Malaysia offering an experience of sustainable living close to nature. (p/s: We do not have resort-style facilities and amenities. It's a back-to-basic living style. Some love it, some don't!) Ideal for relaxation and getting away from the city to enjoy the natural surroundings and to experience off-grid living for adventurous people and nature-loving families.

Very interested in sustainable farming, off grid living, nature and adventure. Couldn't have asked for a better opportunity to engage in each. Albeit brief, the stay in the mountain oasis was exhilarating and refreshing. Bathing in the river shower, listening to the Gibbons Monkeys each morning, trekking up to a crashed bomber from 1950's, learning about sustainable, natural farming and much more. Ladia and his family are a joy!

Our family of 4 had a wonderful time with Ladia, Amy and their 2 kids unlearning all that we thought we knew, and learning things afresh. We got to learn and experience what sustainable living is all about. Ladia was eager to share his extensive knowledge and wisdom about medicinal and nutritional plants, composting toilet, how to set up a solar system, etc. This experience taught us to respect and to live in harmony with mother nature and to conserve our precious resources. Thank you Ladia for doing what you do to bring awareness. We miss the serene environment there and of course all the fun!!

I came to Perperak for the two week apprenticeship because I wanted to learn more about sustainable living. I could not have asked for a more enriching, informative and enjoyable experience. Ladia is extremely knowledgeable, passionate and willing to share. He gave us a true insight into what it means to live sustainably, with a sense of connectedness to the earth and everything that's on it. The whole family is so welcoming and I felt a true part of daily life there. The work that they do is amazing and important - I left feeling empowered and inspired. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

It all started because we wanted to give kids an exposure to real farmstay and came upon perak permaculture by Google. It may not have lots of review, but the website photos and story of how it started appeals to us. So we decided to give it a try, not knowing what to expect coming from a city mum. All we could do is watch natgeo 'living free with kimi' then keep options open for adventure and experience. Briefed the kiddos on it's a real deal there, no nice nice hotels but we are going to experience real jungle and farmstay. Then when we reached this quaint and serene place, its lovely. The host Ladia and Amy and the two kids are great host. They are so inviting and hospitable to let us experience their off grid living. They highlighted all the great things that we never thought we will explore and dare to explore. The kids learnt a lot about the jungle, respecting the plants and animals at the farm and how to get things sustainable. The practice from the hikes made them more and more confident! The fishing also made the kids remember that its not easy to fish and that involves lots of patience and quiet time. Truly a memorable trip. Hope Ladia and family will keep having this nature school for kids to educate more city kids !

I came upon this Farm completely by chance and was very pleased with my stay there. Exactly what you would hope to find for a place in the jungle, miles from anyone or anything else. A true rural refuge. There is a high quality of living here, despite being so remote. Good hosts, good food, good accommodations, good nature. Do not, however, come here expecting any more than what this place is. It is a Farm, operated more or less single-handedly by one guy on the grounds of a defunct tea plantation in the wilderness of Malaysia! If you have ever stayed on a Farm or enjoy simple, clean, wholesome living, you will find it to be fascinating and rewarding here. Arrive open to the unique experience of staying at a place like this.

Our group of 30 yoga enthusiasts camped above the farmhouse in tents. Food provided was from natural produce handpicked from the farm and tasted good. The natural surroundings, waterfall, natural jacuzzi, hiking up the hill, sights and sounds of animals and insects left us refreshed and in awe of what little one needs to be happy. Go with no expectations n star amenities and services and just revel in nature's wonder and you wont be disappointed.

it was a very good learning experience. Way into the hills, away from the city life of KL...my experience was more like an introspection of my self...overall it was a very good experience. Go with an open mind.since it is in the jungle, do not expect any star service. :)

We stayed in that Farm for the week end and the overall experience was not good. An engine generator was running just below our window for hours at night. My feeling is that the people are not used to receive guests, no sense of hospitality at all. The room was not clean. I would not recommend it to my friends.

Thank you for an always spectacular presence, I wish the people whom make up the Permaculture Farmstay in Perak. You all know my best wishes. As the title suggests, this was my 3rd time into the hills and valleys of Lenggong. Surprisingly I've been treating it like a trip back home into nature and letting any if not all my creative juices flow - trapped in nothing other than pure inspiration. My initial visit is sad to say, not too long ago, just shy over 4 weeks - as of this day the 17th of August, 2010. The adventure up and down its clay driveway have always been only a pleasure. Where dreams are realized and friendships blossom faster than the rose bushes. Hope to be back soon!
