Beautifully designed and constructed wooden building with a fantastic sense of character and outstanding views over Grand Lake and the Rockies. Friendly and helpful staff. Small but useful kitchen. A great base for walking and cycling.

This property has outstanding views. The cabin was very roomy. The deck sat out over a huge clift with a raging river below. You could hear the water through out the cabin. The cabin was very cozy. The cabin was built in the 1950's. It could us some remodeling. We really enjoyed our stay it fit our purposes. We really... More

Our family just spend 3 nights at the Overlook Cabin. Funky, but clean and spacious. Our own deck overlooked the stream, mountains, and the lake. Great vibe to the place. Tremendous value, hard to believe is was the least expensive place we stayed on our CO trip as it was by far the most enjoyable.

Grand Lake, CO is one of my most favorite places in Colorado and Shadowcliff is the best place stay when I am there. It is family friendly, in close proximity to town, and offers relaxation in progressive atmosphere. If your in the mountains to enjoy the views, wildlife, and trails Shadowcliff is the place to use as base camp.

My first Shadowcliff experience was 4 years ago and I was immediately hooked. I love the simple, rustic (but comfortable) rooms with beautiful views from every window. A short walk down the hill is the charming little town of Grand Lake, Co where you can find great food, miniature golf, summer theater, and quaint shops. By far, the best thing... More

I've been coming to Shadowcliff off and on since the late 1970's as an individual, with families, with friends. There is simply no better place to create a memorable vacation at any time in the summer or early fall. The view of the lake, the meditative spirit of the point and chapel, the ambiance of the lodge, the value of... More

Most of my Shadowcliff experiences have involved runners, mostly eager high school ones. The trail environs around Shadowcliff make you want to run all day, coming across bighorn sheep, elk, plentiful moose, foxes, osprey, encountering mountain meadows resplendent with colorful and varied blooms, challenging the perimeters of beautiful and roaring falls, being taxed but exhilarated by imposing inclines, joyfully letting... Shadowcliff was built by hundreds of volunteers from 40-some countries, working over a number of years. It continues to be a place where Nature and the good vibes of all those loving volunteers and visitors make everyone feel welcome and at home. We've been going there for more than a decade, and besides the joy of watching deer or moose... More

I have been coming to shadowcliff since i was a baby. I am now 13 years old and every year I come I see a great new site that I couldn't see anywhere else. Three years ago me and my grandparents saw a herd of bighorn sheep on the Colorado River trail. Every year I come I see many moose... More

This was the third time I have stayed here, my first visit was in 1996 and the place is just as clean and tidy now as it was then. I stayed in one of the dorms, but the lodges offered great family accomodation. The bunk bedded room are basic and clean and the bathrooms are in good comndition. The member's... More
