To all of you who complained about bugs and wind, please keep this in mind: YOU ARE CAMPING! You shouldn't expect perfect weather. You shouldn't expect the bugs to leave you alone. I have never seen a mosquito at the mile in the 10 years I have been camping there. If you are looking for perfect weather, go to California.... More

We spent almost a week in Loop E at Rocky Ridge. We had a walk-in site. With the bear warnings, hauling food and gear was a pain. Facilities were very clean. Hot water in the shower at the Park Office seemed random. For tents, there were a variety of non-walk-in sites on Loop E. I'd recommend calling the office for... More

Not only did we have to pay the site fee, but also a $10 reservation fee to ensure we had a spot when we arrived, which consitituted another $7 for access to the park. So we reserved a spot, and the next day got some information on the site locations at the park and decided to switch sites (less than... More

The bugs were awful! Mosquitos and red ants all over the ground. I was out of the car for five minutes and had ants crawling up my legs! We left immediately even after paying over $60 for just 2 nights since they have extra fees online and then a car fee of another $7 a night. There were absolutely no... More

This place says it is 43 miles from Colorado Springs, they lie. I clocked it at nearly 55, PLUS when I arrived I had to drive almost 10 more miles around a crappy dirt road to our site. The wind was horrible, the ants and mosqitos didn't seem to mind our deep woods bug spray at all, and the sorry... More

Way too many bugs to do anything, I have never seen so many as I did last weekend. Very nasty! Also, there was no shade, anywhere! Left early, won’t be back.

Four adults and one child. We had two tents and used to have a shade/shelter. The views were good, the water was fine and the clear starry nights were great. the vault toilets were clean but the odor was unusually potent. The weather was terrible. We were on the westerly egde of the campground without any trees or rocks to... More

I only was staying one night so I chose the first available campsite I came across. It was at the lake's edge and not crowded at all. The site was for a trailer/rv but I was car camping so I had to pay the full price. In addition to that, one has to pay a vehicle fee, too. (nickle and... More

We car camped with our tent, three kids and dog at Rocky Ridge Campground at Eleven Mile Reservoir, Site 118, late July of 2009. All sites have one fire ring with a flip top grill, and picnic table. This site is a bit of a hike from the car. The website says 300 ft, but it is a bit farther... More

After not having much luck finding a good campground for tents in the Woodland Park, CO area we decided to check out Eleven Mile State Park. They have nine separate campgrounds with a nice variety of tent sites and RV sites. We were just looking for one night of camping but it would be easy to stay there for three... More
