We didn't have a reservation, but no problem on a Monday night. The price was decent, the room was small with its own stand up shower and toilet. The sink was in the room next to the bed. The lobby and the hallways were FULL of antiques and knick knacks. Great to look at, but almost too much. The free... More

I love this hotel. Partly because of my ties to it. My great-grandma used to manage it, back in the days of Baby Doe Tabor - and she used to come in to use the library to write letters and get warm. If you want all the conveniences of a 5-star hotel - this is not for you. If you... More

The Delaware Hotel is one of many old Victorian buildings dating back to Leadville’s silver mining boom days of the 1870s and 1880s. Located in the center of the National Historic District, the hotel’s 36 rooms are on the second and third floors. Staying here is stepping back into an earlier time. The downstairs lobby area and the dimly lighted... More

A friend and came into town last summer (2012) after hiking Mt. Elbert, looking for a good breakfast. The Delaware offered it. The food was excellent, the restaurant played Mozart instead of Katy Perry, and since our visit coincided with Leadville's annual celebration, the festivities never stopped. Doc Holliday strolled by wearing a black duster and carrying a Remington. The... More

My family attended a train murder mystery and stayed at the hotel. The costumes and the train were great fun. The owners were great. The lobby was beautiful. Town was very good. The characters in the mystery were "characters" and very entertaining. An awesome story for years. No elevator but even that was part of our story. Shopping was also... More

When you visit Leadville you visit the history of Colorado. A stay at the Delaware is a must. A beautiful hotel with the charm of yesterday. Its not a super modern facility and that is the charm. The restaurant is wonderful and the service is very good.

We decided a weekend in the Rockies would be a nice fall trip and chose Leadville. We've stayed in Leadville before, but this was the first time at the Delaware. The hotel is overstuffed with beautiful antique furniture, and a peek into the lobby is well worth your time. A night's stay is over priced for the area, though. We... More

We stayed on the 3rd floor. Each floor has antiques lining the hallway, which is neat. The rooms are simple, but clean. There wasn't a hairdryer in the room, so bring your own. The hotel is in a great location on the main street in town. The lobby is lined with antiques and has nice sitting areas. It also has... More

We had time before the train ride up the mountain and it was time well spent to look at the lobby and first floor of antiques and things to buy. We didn't buy anything but liked looking at the clothes and hats for sale. We looked at the Stetson cowboy hat, didn't buy it, and didn't know we were to... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Delaware. The rooms were clean and comfortable with antiques everywhere. There is no elevator, so be prepared to take luggage up a long flight of stairs. The breakfast offered had many choices. We were given lots of information about the town and places to eat.
