This is my second visit to this property. The grounds are well maintained, the pools are relaxing, and the rooms are great. As other reviewers have said the bedspreads are "tropical" but I think that adds to the charm. The room I was in had been updated, it had a flat screen HD tv, which is important to me. It... More

I've stayed at the Islander many times - both the resort and the sister property on the bayside - with and without my family. The bayside rooms are completely updated and look more like a home than a hotel and there is a pool on the bay. You can use the Resort amenities if you stay on the Bayside, which... More

I took me a while to write this review we stayed at the Islander the end of March. I run a hotel so I am fairly fussy and look at lots of places normal folks don't check out. I was thrilled with my stay here. The staff was great the rooms were clean and comfortable. This resort is much larger... More

I am a local, meaning I live in the Florida Keys. It takes a lot to impress me, and the Islander consistently does that. The view is stunning. The food is really fresh and yummy. It is fun to feel like a tourist, and this place takes such good care of you, even I felt like I was on vacation.... More

We stayed for 2 nights in April. No problems with contruction noise. Very quiet. Large beach area with lots of space and lounge chairs. No need to reserve your chair as in other resorts. 2 swimming pools. Rooms are older but clean. Kitchen area with fridge. Breakfast was ok, fruit, cereals, french toast, yogurt.... Save for kids, all the rooms... More

My husband and I stayed in an ocean front room, which means basically you open the door on your porch to sand & the beach. The room was decent, I think we had what is considered a studio room. The location was wonderful, I loved opening the window to wake up to the ocean. The beach was clean and there... More

We stayed here on a fluke and loved it! So family friendly and a beautiful location. It is in an older resort but in amazing condition. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and efficient. We wanted to go scuba diving and it was right down the street. Will definitely return. More

Good location, nice facilities, has most of what you want on the premises or very close. The staff was very friendly, the view of the ocean was great, the pool area was great... The continental breakfast was average, but a decent (cheap) way to get started daily. More

My daughter and I just got back from our trip to the islander resort. First the good stuff....we stayed in one if the rooms in the first row of the resort which meant we were closest to the ocean. Room was nice, kitchen area and nice size screened in porch off the back door which overlooked the water. Large beach... More

We came to this hotel from the Casa Morada over the road which was full for the evening. Coming from a small boutique hotel with a 5 star service to the Islander, unfortunately put the Islander at an unfair disadvantage. The hotel, grounds and facilities are quite nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a twin... More
