Excellent location if visiting Universal Studies, $5 taxi ride, well maintained hotel, great pool,very comfy rooms, especially bedding! Only complaint, drink prices in the bar crazy, but TGIF's just across the road. Staff excellent.

We were there recently for a weekend convention-type event. When making the reservation, I requested an upper floor. We wanted to get out of Boston and get some sun to work on that tan (May 4-6, 2012). Chose the Doubletree for it's convenient location (~10-15 min walk) to Universal's City Walk. The AAA price of $118/night was also reasonable.
