This park is very nice. The campsites were clean, and offered nice tree shade. They also offered a picnic table and grill at each site. Have to either rent or bring your own fire pit, they cost $3.00 a night to rent. Just make sure you bring your own wood if you can, it's expensive. The onsite camp store has... More

Camped at site 13---beautiful spot, close to the water and bath house. All sites seemed very clean. You can use google earth to see which water-side sites have beach and which have trees along the shore. The campsite itself is one of the best I have ever seen. However, I have found, over the years, that the worst part of... More

Very nice sites, most of them located directly at the sea, where you can see the wildlife. Sites are shaded with trees and palms and have been clean. Hosts have been friendly. Other visitors have been friendly too and quite in the night. Beach nearby is very nice.

Beautiful natural preserve, beach, park and campground. I collected lovely shells and at low tide there is a reef you can walk out to where I have heard there is an abundance if sand dollars. Great camping and roller blading!

Very nice large park. You can rent bikes for some exercise and to get around, nice beaches, the fort is a small but still interesting (takes only about 20 min to see). Price to get into the park very reasonable ($5 per car). Overall, very nice and clean.

I last camped here in 1981. How nice it was to find the bathrooms just as clean, lots of hot water and pressure and the campground also very clean. Was not so happy to see so many large RVs dominating the campsites, many from Canada, but that's just the way it is when such a beautiful place is discovered. The... More

Very pretty. Best sites 1-10. Seems safe. Bathrooms stocked with TP and recently cleaned. Sites are gorgeous and mostly private. We are on 62, plenty of room. Site 79 was a little narrow. Raccoons are UNBELIEVABLE. While maybe kinda bad near the campers, the 'tent' area was HORRIBLE with them. (Dogs in the RV may help deter them. One climbed... More

"There is never a bad day in the park" Jack Loren Peterson. Miles of beaches and endless water activities. Close to St-Petersburg and Tampa. The only down side, you can't take a walk in the park after dark. Even if you are camping there. We were stopped by a park ranger that told us the park was closed. Lots of... More

We are brand new to the RV experience, and this trip to FL was our first big outing. We chose Fort de Soto sort of randomly, and really hit the jackpot. The sites were level and separated from one another by lovely trees. Some of the sites have waterfront views. We were lucky enough to get one of those for... More

Loved this place. We tent camped for 3 days in Feb. Sites were huge, campsite restrooms clean. BEAUTIFUL beaches and terrific biking! Quiet. Easy trip into St.Pete's Beach which is really a funky little beach town where time seems to have stopped at 1963....don't miss it!
