Arrived by plane at noon on Saturday 24th. Front desk let us check in 4 hours early as we were tired from our flight which was super great customer service. We had lunch and a beer and a margarita at the poolside bar on Sunday 25th. The bartender was efficient and friendly and answered questions about Bowman's beach/snorkeling. Room was clean and modern. Can't say enough good things about Sanibel Inn. The room maid asked us if we needed anything too. We are definitely coming back!

To start the location alone is worth the price of admission. Easy access from Fort Meyers, not to far into the island, but still has a middle of nowhere private resort feel. Easy access to all the good restaurants (shout out to Light House Cafe, awesome breakfast, owner Dan is so nice and personable). The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and well taken care of. Steps from the beach. Gulf view room was lovely. Yes like some of the reviews stated, it is a little dated, it is a beach resort hotel that has been there for some time. If you want something new and modern stay off the island with no beach access and then drive to Sanibel Island to see all the natural beauty. Everything was clean. It was off season so the were no shortage of amenities. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you Sanibel Inn for making my wife's birthday a great one!

Hubby and I are spending 2 nights at Sanibel Inn to celebrate our anniversary. While the unit is a bit outdated the view and location were excellent. I also wanted to give a job well done to the housekeeping staff there. I came across a staff member on my way in to my unit and asked for a few extra coffee pod refills. Within 5 minutes she brought me 4 additional coffee pods. However, they were the wrong size which I didn’t realize until after I got back inside. I quickly found another staff member and asked her for the smaller size pods. And again within 5 minutes she made her way back to our unit with the correct size and she was smiling genuinely seemed happy to accommodate my small request. It really is the kind little things that employees do that makes a stay a memorable one!

The actual outdoor resort was beautiful. Very manicured pathways to the pool and beach. The room was another story! It was dated, had run down furniture and the carpet was stained and dirty! The bathroom was full of tiny ants and wasn’t cleaned properly. Overall, disgusting! I complained to the manager. He was apologetic and upgraded us to a newer building. Still had ants in the bathroom. I do not recommend this inn.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time in providing feedback on your recent stay with us here at the Sanibel Inn. We very much appreciate the shoutout to our wonderful landscaping - but regret to see your experience with ants discovered in your room. Rest assured we will be taking a closer look into this, and will connect with our contract company who handles this area to see where we had fallen short - or if this could have been a cause to the heavy increase in storms we have recently experienced. I would very much like to invite you to connect with me directly on this and review your reservation so we can make this right. Please do not hesitate to contact me via any of the below outlets. All my best, Brad Stanze - Front Office Manager Email: bstanze@theinnsofsanibel.com Phone: (239) 472-2220 ext: 4199

We have stayed here about 6 times now in the last few years and love it. We always stay in a condo unit for extra space and it is worth the upgrade. Everyone from the front desk, to the rec staff that put out chairs to the tiki bar staff (especially Casey) are super wonderful and helpful!! Great amenities here and very clean. Also we really love Dante’s pizza!! We look forward to it every visit. We will always come back here to stay when on Sanibel!!

Went for spring break 2022. Suite was clean and very spacious. Kitchen was very poorly stocked, however. Mom left her wallet at the bar accidentally and upon retrieval noticed cash missing! Resort was great location wise! Loses stars for kitchen and theft. Would go again I’d just bring my own kitchen stuff and keep an eye on the wallet!

Response from Bill Wellman, General Manager at Sanibel Inn
Responded 12 Sept 2022
Hello Jillian, Thank you for sharing your comments and concerns. While I'm very happy to hear that you appreciated certain aspects of the resort and had a good visit aside from the incident you mentioned, I'm terribly sorry and concerned to hear about this. I believe I responded to an earlier review (perhaps posted by your mom?) but did not receive a reply. Can you please contact me directly or via the internal messaging portal on Trip Advisor? I would like to know more about what happened. This is a very unique incident and certainly not indicative of our service and care for our guests. Thank you for being our guest - I look forward to connecting with you when you have an opportunity. Sincerely, Bill Wellman General Manager The Inns of Sanibel 239-472-3181 ext. 6308 bwellman@theinnsofsanibel.com

Maggie C. was a great tour guide with loads of knowledge and passion to share with us. We liked learning about some of the island history of Sanibel and of course about shells. We’re very glad we did it. Plus the necklaces were a nice treasure to keep. Thank you!

We had a wonderful 3-night stay in August 2022. Two-bedroom condo was very comfortable. And the beach, of course, was lovely. Only downside was the heat - definitely needed an afternoon siesta each day. Highlight was the nature walk with naturalist Maggie. She brings a real enthusiasm for the local flora and fauna. She inspired our son to look more closely at the many types of shells on the beach. And later in the day we all enjoyed getting fossilized shark teeth necklaces.
