The campground was big with a variety of sites. When we visited it wasn't very busy so it was private and quiet. The springs are beautiful, with crystal clear water that produce some amazing blues and greens. Its gorgeous. the swimming hole is pretty busy with locals on the weekends but during the week its pretty quiet.

We arrived about 9:15 AM on a Friday and had our choice of any camp sites with the exception of the two closest to the bathhouse. We picked the third closest and went kayaking leaving the setting up of camp for later. We made arrangements to have leave our car at the takeout point and paid our launch fee. We... More

This is a beautiful place to camp. You should know that there is no hook ups, however! there is water nearby to fill up. There is also a dump station on the way out. I was amazed how pristine the grounds were. The RV sites were paved and level nd very spacious. You will need to shut your generator down... More

I decided to travel to Ocala from Maitland for my morning hike. I chose Juniper Springs for the beautiful scenery and the chance to photograph wildlife. It was 45 degrees on Nov 25, 2012 when I headed out and warmed up to 68 degrees by the time I finished. I could see how this would be a mosiquito invested trail... More

Just did one night this past weekend (11/24/12). Horrible experience! Drunks up partying all night in the tent area. One group up singing past midnight, the other group singing/playing guitars over amplified equipment at 3 am!! Security nowhere to be seen. Private requests from other campers to settle down were met with filthy language and threats of violence. In short,... More

Most of the other reviews are correct, 5 entrance fee per person, and 33 per canoe, plus tax. That being said our group of 9 had a blast. The girls were 10 and 11 and they enjoyed it. The trip was about 5 hours and we were a slow bunch. Plan on arriving early and doing the run and returning... More

This past weekend I went camping and canoeing at juniper springs. Although the campsites were clean and spaced out enough, the complete disorganization of the canoeing left me tired before we even got on the water. Besides being slightly expensive for a canoe rental, the staff refused to allow us to bring any of the drinks and snacks we had... More

What a beautiful place. Swim in the spring if 72 degree water seems comfortable (probably best on a hotter day than when we went). At the very least, walk the boardwalk and check out the turtles and fish at the bridge at the end of the boardwalk. The real thrill here is the canoe trip. OK, it isn't a short... More

At check in for the paddling trail we were told this is not a beginners trail, there were difficulties and it was a challenge. We took our time and stopped several times, five hours of drop dead gorgeous scenery and wildlife. This is great paddle for the more experienced. Several places to pull out and rest, there never was a... More

First let me say that if you are a novice paddler, don't paddle here. But if you can steer a canoe or kayak in a straight line and turn corners well, this is a must paddle. I just went today with my canoe, my wife in the front and my 11 year old granddaughter in the middle. We had a... More
