Great location and natural beauty totally spoiled by long term travel trailers in unkempt sites. Manager obviously under the influence of alcohol (at the very least!) when encountered during our 3 day stay. Numerous dogs run freely and dog feces everywhere. Bathrooms filthy with dried feces on rim/seats. Shower curtains half torn down. Loud drum playing and traffic until early... More

We came to this campground expecting to have a great, peaceful 3 nights. Instead, we got a nightmare. The manager came to the check-in reeking of alcohol. The grass had not been cut in quite awhile. The bathrooms were nasty! We had to listen to a blaring radio play late into the night. The worst of it all was the... More

The first thing to greet us was someone shouting and swearing at a stray dog which he then proceeded to shoot at with an air gun. We found the place to be very run down with many unkempt permanent camp sites. The bathrooms were far away from our site and dirty. There was also a drunk homeless man living under... More

We love this place, we have traveled all over the south and this is by far our favorite place. the owners are awesome , friendly and fun. the showers were clean and the grass was cut. there is plenty of space between RV sites with full hook-ups. The campground is on the etowah river and kept very clean. I would... More

I would not recommend this campground for a fun camping experience. It was really run down, some of the grass had just been cut, but it needed a lot more work. No campsite privacy. A path down between campsites would be a good idea. Bathhouse was a bit far away, but it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. We had... More

This campground has been run down. If it was ever a nice place to stay it is NOT now. We rode through and kept going. There are many people who are obviously living here permanently. It is like a camper trailer-park. PLEASE don't waste your time.

Worst camp trip ever. Thank goodness is was an exploring trip and only 1 night. Stayed awake until after 2 am with loud college kids and radios. We were in camp sites 23 and 24, but had to move to another site b/c someone was on our site when we arrived. They must have taken the pictures on the website... More

Pros: Clean campground, family-friendly (a large playground set and LOTS of little kids - the owners have the cutest little girl), hot showers, dog-friendly (we brought our large breed dog and nobody cared how much he barked or that he ran around all over), mostly quiet, $5 innertubing rentals, free gold panning, beautiful scenery (rolling hills, excellent spot on the... This is not a nice campground and regardless what people but on the website it was awful. When we stayed it felt more like a trailer park because everyone livers there. The grass was to our ankles, the bathrooms were nasty, there are stray dogs running around and trash by the playground including beer botles that was there for three... More

Call ahead if you just want peace and quiet. This inexpensive ($20.00 a night) campground is home to small local music festivals. If you want to go here and not participate in the festival, be prepared to stay up til midnight with the music. The river is cold and refreshing when the heat gets oppressive. Most RV sites are unshaded... More
