We have stayed here twice on overnight visits to Chicago to see shows. The pricing is fair, location is fun (walkable to Bucktown, nearby shops, close to other neighborhoods). Beds and rooms are comfortable, clean, if on the small side for the budget rooms. Have some fun modern perks like heated floors in the bathrooms, steam room, etc. Staff is... More

I can not tell you enough how amazing this place was. It was literally the best B&B I have ever been too. We travel often and try to support local business by staying in B&B's. You sometimes hit a bump or two in the road with either weird people or just not what you would like...not the case here. The... More

Not your mother's B&B. Looks like nothing from the outside. Inside, the place is fascinating, reflecting the caffeinated personality of Ray, the owner. Ray is friendly, informal and very customer service oriented. He is also a collector, and his well-organized stuff is everywhere. Our room was comfy and the breakfast was the best I have ever had at a B&B.... More

Ray and his staff were the greatest! Loved being able to ditch the car on a street and explore Bucktown, take a $17 taxi downtown instead of parking for even more money. The place is delightful and comfortable and breakfasts are amazing. More

Ray's b&b was the first stop for my wife and I on our recent visit to the States. We wanted to stay out of downtown Chicago but still enjoy quality accommodation with plenty to do nearby, and Ray's proved to be an excellent choice. We stayed for 3 nights in the Eagle's Nest room, which was roomy and quiet. The... More

We were SO happy staying at Ray's this past August. We had a flight out of O'Hare and decided to come to Chicago a couple of days early before heading out West. Ray's was the B&B closest to any blue line stop so we could get to O'Hare without a car. We were so, so pleasantly surprised by how large... More

We spent four days in Chicago, first stop of our fantastic "kick"on Route 66. We werw two couples and we stayed in a huge room for four with private bathroom with every confort. The B&B is well located though not downtown: for us that was even better 'cause we enjoyed a lot the lively (night) but quiet (day) area. The... More

Ray's bucktown is the place to stay. It is cozy, the staff is friendly and the breakfast (see the other reviews as well) is simply delicious. A unique place in one of Chicago's best neighbourhoods. Ray (and the other staff as well) does everything to make you feel comfortable. He even gave us a ride to the cta-station when he... More

My wife and I were planning a trip to visit our son, who had just moved to Chicago, and gotten an apartment in what sounded like a nice little neighborhood called Bucktown. We looked for someplace close to him to stay, and stumbled across Ray's. What a find! Ray and his staff were friendly, interesting and helpful. Our room (the... More

My husband and I passed through Chicago on on our honeymoon. We spent two nights at Ray's and hated to leave. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and personable; the B&B itself is fun, whimsical, and comfortable. The design is clever and smart. We stayed in the DaVinci room which has a jacuzzi tub and way more space than a typical... More
