In the mid-1920's, the Mansion was converted to the local hotel it is today. Boasting some of the finest craftsmanship available a century ago, the Mansion's millwork still awes visitors today. The six fabulous fireplace mantels are centerpieces of an architectural excellence seen only in the palaces of Europe. An exotic gingerbread arch hangs overhead at the entrance which lore says was removed from Gilbert's riverboat.
