We have visited Italy many times over the past couple of decades, sometimes staying for a month or so. Most of the time, we have only a week or so to get away and prefer to spend our time as we choose, rather than with a tour group. When you stay with Tim and Rina at Villa Sampaguita in Asti,... More

What a great couple. Tim and Rina were the perfect hosts. Starting from our first correspondence, we were given all we needed. Every day started out with a wonderful breakfast prepared by Rina followed by a suggested itinerary for the day from Tim. Our main interest was food and wine and we were not disappointed. We were directed to the... More

Hello Jason and Jamie, we are very happy that you enjoyed your stay in spite of what was a wet April weekend - at least there was a little sunshine here and there. Alas we ran out of time to show around our small cantina (winery), next time for sure. Good Luck. More

This is a long overdue comment on Villa Sampaguita and the very friendly and knowledgeable hosts, Tim and Rina. After coming off the sterile environment of a cruise ship we found the low key, working farm /vineyard surroundings, even in mid October rain and fog, a delightful experience. Tim and Rina's knowledge, recommendations and arrangements for restaurants, winery visits and... More

Our first trip to Italy was very exciting - we stayed at this wonderful B&B. Tim and Rina were excellent hosts and extremely generous individuals. They guided us on our adventure during which we met numerous people, some with whom we are still in contact. Rina is an excellent cook and served wonderful meals, while Tim facilitates great conversation and... More

My husband and I stayed a few days here with our young baby, and I can honestly say we didn't feel more at home or welcomed on our entire Italian tour! The rooms are lovely - big, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The area itself is very good, and within a short distance to many key places to visit although a... More

We returned to the Piedmont for Tartuffi this November and stayed at Villa Sampaguita. We had a wonderful time, coming back to what we felt like was home, a warm fire burning and very comfortable accomodations. We are no strangers to the area but both Tim and Rina were able to make it feel new by suggesting restaurants and routes that... More

Villa Sampaguita is the perfect compromise between "tourist-tours-that-are-too-structured" and "being-adventurous-but-frustratingly-lost-or-confused." We gained so much from Tim and Rina's wise and helpful advice as well as their gracious and obliging guidance when we were eager to follow rather than work out the details by ourselves. On the other hand, we fully enjoyed the knowledge we gained from them, so that we... More

We spent 2 weeks in their lovely l bedroom apartment and hated to leave. We were made to feel like part of the family and Tim and Rina were wonderful hosts. Rina's cooking is superb and we hope to taste more of it on our next visit. Tim is an extraordinary man with so much information on every subject you... More

We decided to stay at a B&B vs a hotel to get the warmth and personal attention a B&B affords. We were very pleased that this one was a real villa-not a house like in the states. The room was large and very comfortable with a large bathroom. Our hosts could not have been more accomdating. We arrived late-around 9PM-after... More

We first learned of Villa Sampaguita in Alastair Sawday's book "Special Places to Stay in Italy."On previous trips, we had never been disappointed in his recommendations, and our stay at Villa Sampaguita reinforced our opinion. We have stayed at other agriturismos, and this one was far better with very personalized service. As other writers have mentioned, Rina and Tim are... More
